She So Random

It’s a Saturday night and I can’t believe I’m almost done with NaBloPoMo. This was a stretch but I am further at this point than I was last year so I can press on these last few days. That being said I have nothing meaningful to write about so I’ll do a random post to update you on what’s been going on around here

* Lil Mama is talking now. Talking alot. Words include..Mine, I had first, Cup, Eat, and last night she said Christmas lights. Even though we have weaned she calls milk in her cup “nurse” and she calls my boobs “cup” Awwwwww!!

* Lil Man is doing good in school, and while I encourage his learning potential the amount of questions that he asks in a day is mind boggling. Some of this stuff I have no answers for. Want an example. ” Mommy, why does God give us a pointer finger if its not polite to point?” See….

* I have decided to relaunch my T-shirt line. For those of you new around here I started a faith based apparel line and financially I wasn’t able to make it happen like I wanted. I now have an investor (The Mr.) He dropped me a large sum of $ and told me I had no excuse, and to go after my dreams. Loooooove him. The pressure is on. I am going to rebrand and hopefully in a couple of weeks I’ll have a sneak peek for you. I have retained a PR firm to help with the marketing/social media  and other things that overwhelmed me. Sometimes you can’t do everything. I am excited to see where this will go with some professional assistance.

*My car is a mess. No matter how hard I try its futile. Tell me your car is a mess too.

*Lil Mama does this weird thing where she licks on fabric when she’s tired. I’m not sure about that. Is she normal?

* I made egg nog cupcakes. I had every intention on posting to the blog but they turned out a disaster. If you want to have a go at it, here’s the recipe. I plan to try again…maybe.

Don't these look rich and moist? Mine were dry and arrid

* My children’s sleep schedule is all off. I guess that’s our fault. We are a little lax on stuff like that during holidays. But starting next week, these folks are in the bed at 9:00.

Welp, that’s all I have.  Hope your weekend is going well

Don’t forget to enter the Shabby Apple Dress Giveaway here!! I will pick the winner Sunday evening at 10p.

Mimi NaBloPoMo Rant

Can I Be a Hypocrite?

I just finished catching up on my Google Reader and I have noticed that I comment on a ton of blogs that don’t follow me, or have never even stopped by to comment..not.once.

Quiana over at Harlem Lovebirds did a post here…that got me thinking about folks who read and never comment.

So I’m a hypocrite. I get in these moods, I’m in one now and since I have to blog everyday you get to witness it first hand. Yes, I have blogged and Twitter ranted about not caring about if people follow me or comment and/or either but TODAY I’m peeved.

See, if you’ve been around the blog block you know there are circles and you will see people on the regular. So, if I see you commenting on other people’s blogs then I know you’ve seen me on your blog but you don’t even stop by…To defend my hypocrisy I follow a ton of blogs and never comment but if they stop by HERE I’m going to find my way over there every now and then to comment. Quietly I read everyone’s blog who follows me…not everyday but when I do, I may read 10 posts at a time. If I’m not at least following you let me know. I don’t comment like I should that would be the hypocrisy busy’ness that is my life…but still. Y’all get where I’m headed? Maybe the food has me delusional. Maybe my content isn’t their cup of tea, but when we blog about the same thing. Oh?

Maybe they just don’t like me. I care today, but I assure you I won’t care tomorrow.

Do you get in your blog feelings this way from time to time…You know women are emotional creatures. Do share and if you’ve been lurking now is the time to show your face. I’m vulnerable and need virtual hugs!

Christmas Holidays NaBloPoMo

*Believes the Hype*

Hi!

Hope your Thanksgiving went well. For the very first time I cooked all of the food except for the turkey. Our spread included turkey, macaroni and cheese, dressing, collard greens, sweet potato souffle, potato salad, cranberry sauce, rolls and apple pie.

I am very proud of myself. The food tasted really good. I know I can do it now. Big shout out to Kita over at Saywhatuwanna for the sweet potato recipe.

We ate around 3 and layed around. Around 7 my son dragged us outside to put up the outdoor Christmas lights. We looking like the Griswold’s over here. Things just randomly placed but its what he wants…Tis the season

I told myself that I wouldn’t get suckered into the Black Friday foolery but low and behold as I type this I am fully dressed and will head out the door shortly after I hit publish. I live not far from an outlet and every year they do a midnight madness and the deals are like no other. I came across a coupon I had for Carter’s and the store is 60% plus I can use the 20% coupon so we’ll just say every child will have something from Carters. There is also a Children’s Place, Gap, Old Navy, Aeropostale and a few other good stores that literally give away clothes during the wee hours so out I head.

If I get some really good stuff I’ll do a vlog tomorrow with my findings.

I sincerely hope you and yours had an awesome day and are looking forward to the hustle and bustle of the next 4 weeks. Happy Thanksgiving!!
