skincare essentials | my favorite moisturizers

I am a RoC ambassador and have received compensation for this post. All opinions are mine.

I have the most finicky skin ever. In the summer it tends to run between oily and combination. As the temps drop, and the heat comes on it moves to being extremely dry on my forehead and cheeks depending on the day.

During the warmer months I tend to only moisturize after I wash in the evening not applying any additional moisturizer in the morning unless I need it. Now, as the winter comes in I have to moisturize in the evening and in the morning.

I’ve mentioned before one of my favorite night time moisturizers is the RoC multicorrexion 5 in 1 restoring night cream. From the texture to the price, this will always be my go to for night moisturizing.

RoC 5 in 1 correxion night cream

While this moisturizer has the right amount of heaviness it isn’t really helping combat my dryness during the day any more so I’ve added the daily moisturizer with spf to my routine in the mornings.

RoC Daily Moisturizer

This moisturizer is significantly lighter than its evening counterpart but for now it’s working okay. I’m a little worried about how it will fare once the temps really drop,  as the weather has been kind of mild.  I’ll let you know if I decide to update my routine further into the winter if I find it isn’t working well  for my extremely dry skin.

I can’t gush more about the quality of this product for the price and convenience. If you are looking to adjust your skin care products for the season take a look at RoC. You can find it at your local big box and drug store retailers for an extremely affordable price.

What does your winter skin care routine look like? What are some of your favorite products? Do you find yourself switching out your skincare routine with the seasons?

i blogged everyday

I completed NaBloPoMo. I actually blogged everyday this month. The end was suspect but I finished and I don’t think next November I’ll be signing up.

Putting out content to just put it out doesn’t do it for me. I enjoyed the challenge but glad it is over and I can say I conquered NaBloPoMo. Now I am looking forward to really bringing back content that is well thought out and curated once or twice a week or whenever the spirit hits me..but I finished!

My mindset on blogging has changed over the past few months and this challenge really solidified for me that I still love blogging for the love of blogging and while making an income from it is nice, it doesn’t trump the love and connection I feel with my audience so I will be making some adjustments in 2016 and I am excited about it.

I have some fashion posts coming up in the next week and a fun giveaway so make sure to stay tuned. Thanks to everyone who hung in there with me. Starting tomorrow we’ll be back to the regularly scheduled program.

If you missed any of my posts from November you can find them all here.

ramblings

Lawd. The whirlwind of Thanksgiving is over and now we are on the race to Christmas and the start of a new year.

This weekend was full of family and fun but I am ready to get December started as I am working on something new that I can’t wait to share with you all. It may be ready before the end of the year but for some reason for the ease of things I may hold off until January 4 to roll it out.

I am so excited for the new year. Something about Mondays, the first day of any month and the beginning of a new year make me feel like I have an official new start to make awesome things happen.

One thing I want to start doing more in 2016 is reading more than just fiction. My first book is Year of  Yes by Shonda Rhimes. Thanks to Amazon Prime I’ll have it Tuesday.

Speaking of getting my thoughts in order for 2016 I need to start planning a vision board party. I did one last year. I need to pull it out to see what came of my vision for 2015.

I’ve been on way too many Youtube channels about planning. I just ordered a laminator. Not sure what I am going to do with it but I’ll let you know.

I forgot to move the elves last night and had to think quick on my feet.

How was your Thanksgiving?

saturday snapshot

A few weeks ago I shared a few photos from the fall photo shoot I did of my children. While at the park my son had the genius idea to re-create this photo I took of them in 2011 and I thought it came out super hilarious.

It’s amazing how fast they grow!
