Children Living School

Back to School Days

August 4th and August 5th symbolized the first day of 3rd grade and Pre-K for Adrian and Addison. I would be telling a huge tale if I didn’t disclose the fact that I walked Adrian to the bus stop with a smile on my face and and nearly skipped while walking Addison into her classroom for the first day.

I love my children and we had an amazing, action pack filled summer but it is time and I am happy that they are back in the classroom challenging their little minds!

I’m driving a carpool twice a week this year. I’m becoming SO suburban it’s not funny.

Adrian will be in the TAG program this year and Addison is in a private Pre-K. I have gladly traded in leisure for hours of daily post classroom work with them, I am excited to get back on schedule and add some structure/bedtimes back to our lives.

So far so good. Adrian hasn’t had any homework this week, but I’ve been drilling him on his multiplication tables and Addison has been getting it in on her letter sounds in the afternoon.

Wishing everyone whose children  have started school a great year. For those of you in areas that have a few more weeks, enjoy them. Getting back to the grind is real!

I went back to try and see if I blogged about Adrian going to school for the first time and came across this post from when he first went to Kindergarten 3 years ago. When I migrated from Blogger some of my photos didn’t come across, so the post doesn’t have any photos. I did find this one of his first day of Kindergarten in another post.

first day of kindergarten

I know y’all think bloggers blog for the readers but sometimes it is just an amazing way of capturing our lives to go back and enjoy later. This photo brought a little tear to my eye!

Are your kids back in school? How did the first week go.  If you still have more time have you finished up your shopping?

When people ask me why I blog, I swear I tell them the exact same reason. My kids haven’t returned yet but every time I think about it, I get a little lump in my throat and my eyes get to watering. I realize that my children are growing–every day I can notice how they’ve changed overnight it seems. LOL! But when this time of year comes around, it really does something to me. It’s a different type of observation.

You guys have a great school year!

I loved seeing your first day of school pictures on IG. Wishing your babies an amazing, fantastic, fun, and adventurous year back to school! We go meet the teacher today and school starts next Wednesday for us in New Mexico! I just ordered his new backpack and lunch pail form PBkids two days ago! Yikes. Where did time go?

They are too cute! All the best to them this school year, you too! We have until the 18th, but our rising 9th grader has been at Marching Band camp since last Monday!! It’s official, her summer is OVER!

We still have until the end of the month for Michael to go back to school. Thanks to H & M I came across this awesome sale and he’s pretty much set for school shopping clothing wise.
