Aladdin Southern Luncheon

Earlier in the week in my Weekend in Review post I mentioned that last Thursday I attended a luncheon hosted by Momtrends, Aladdin and Party BluPrints.

The event was held at the beautiful Piedmont Estate. The location was absolutely beautiful, it was like an oasis tucked in the hustle and bustle of Buckhead.

The food was excellent. From the salad to our build your own dessert, the fare was fabulous and mixed in well with the decor that was curated by Party BluPrints using the Aladdin Mason Entertaining Collection.

Prior to making our way upstairs to be seated for lunch, we had a ball downstairs chatting and having sips on a plethora of drink options to include lemonade and some “mommy juice” as I like to call it. You can call it “sprinkling” your drink with a little vodka.

It got a little tricky at times trying to maneuver my “mommy juice” and business cards and purse and camera but I found a way to get a couple of “Mug Shots” in

While my guests were delighted to receive some products from the Aladdin Mason Entertaining Collection at the party I hosted a few weeks ago, I now know that I could’ve upped the décor ante by utilizing these jars in a different capacity from holding flowers, to storing take away gifts, to holding a dessert base where guests can add on different toppings at a dessert bar.

We were able to take away some seasoning rub as well as build a delicious dessert with the mason jars. How clever of Party BluPrints. For more decorating ideas be sure to check out their blog. With products at this price point and accessibility there is no reason your backyard BBQs should be less than stellar this season.

After I ate until I couldn’t eat anymore, and then still snuck in a little more I headed back home. What a delightful Spring luncheon with some fabulous ladies. Thank you Momtrends, Aladdin and Party BluPrints for a great afternoon!

{Front Porch Makeover} Some Progress

My love for well decorated front porches runs long and wide. There is a neighborhood not far from here that is full of recently built homes designed to simulate homes from the era of wrap around porches. I often ride in there just to look and get ideas of things I could do with my porch.

A front porch was high on my list of must haves when we were house shopping and while I didn’t get one as big as I would’ve liked…I did get one. A few days ago it looked like this:

I ventured into Kohl’s one day with some Kohl’s Cash, a coupon, and a $10 off anything promotional offer. Initially I looked at a purse, before deciding I might be better off getting something I need.

As you can probably tell I am on a roll trying to get this house transformed into a home. While I know it will take time the journey of a thousand miles started with one step…you feel me?

Mohawk Area Rug Giveaway

There is nothing more cozy than a warm and inviting home and I am trying to transform our house into just that. The folks over at Mohawk were so kind to send me an 8X10 area rug and allow me to giveaway an additional area rug. With the weather as cold as it is the rug couldn’t have come at a better time, not to mention it has curtailed my children from sliding across the living room.

Prior to the rug getting here the space was cold and bare. We have two sofas, two chairs and an ottoman that were placed haphazardly.

Once I rolled the rug out I decided that the furniture needed a little rearranging. Not sure if the arrangement will stay this way but it works for now.

Amazing what a rug can do to warm up a space. I chose the Simpatico rug for its neutral colors. I needed something to work with the pillows and the patterned chair and this fit the bill. The rug is excellent quality and bound on the edges to prevent fraying.

We don’t own a vacuum cleaner, I’ll need one ASAP as it is recommended for the care of the rug.

Weekend Shenanigans

The first weekend in this neck of the woods was uneventful.

My stepdaughter spent Christmas with us. Unfortunately it was time for her to go home, so on Saturday we all piled in the car and took the 4 hour drive to Tallahassee.

They all slept the entire way…..I’m not included in they. I only slept for an hour ~~each way~~

Outside of the trip to Tallahassee I finally rolled my sleeves up and got to work on finishing the Laundry Room . It only took me 5 months to start. Nevermind what I said here. I’ll do a full in depth before and after of the space later in the week.
