{Outfit of the Day} Stone Mountain Park

My husband’s best friend and his family are paying us a visit for a few days. Yesterday we thought it a good idea to take the children to Stone Mountain Park. I had only been to Stone Mountain a few times and it was for the laser show that plays nightly during the summer. Yesterday we went and took in the entire experience.

I knew there would be a lot of walking so I opted to wear tennis shoes instead of flip flops and I’m glad I did. Up until a few weeks ago I didn’t own a pair of tennis shoes other than my running shoes and they are far from cute. JD Sports was so kind to send me a pair of Air Max to review and I love them.

Family Life Summer

Summer Vacation Week 5

countdown

Halfway there.

Last week was rough. Being a WAHM with 3 kids in perpetual motion at all times amidst blaring televisions, rugs with sharpie stains and the background noise of constant bickering is enough to send any mother batty.

Last week I was close to it. Even grabbed the calendar and started crossing off  days advent calendar style. How appropriate as Christmas in July approaches. August 4th can’t come fast enough. They were at VBS for the first part of the day and I could just taste it.

Children Family Life My Babies Summer Weekend

{Weekend in Review} Chill.Mode

This weekend was the perfect kick off to Summer.

Addison’s last day of school was last Wednesday and Adrian’s was Friday. Come Saturday morning we had a house full of children to include my nephew, as well as my niece and her friend.

By 11a everyone including the Mr. and I was outside playing.

When it was too hot to play outside the older children ventured inside to help my MIL make a cake. I just love this photo, as we know Big Mama doesn’t exist any more and it was such a joy to see them in the kitchen with Grandma.

While everyone was sucking up the air inside and taste testing cake batter I was left outside with a sweet little girl who got a new bike and was dead set on riding and roasting in the afternoon sun.

Once it cooled off  everyone made their way back outside for a little evening breeze. My niece caught this photo of the Mr. and I. You know he makes rare appearances around here.

Later in the evening my bestie Erika stopped by with her family. While watching the playoff game #GoHeat,  we snuck in a few #Usies

Sunday, we ventured to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party.

Today/Monday we are planning to stay close to home. We may take a visit to a local park that has a dedicated memorial section for our fallen soldiers. Maybe I’ll try to recreate this photo from last year

A HUGE thank you to all who have served and are serving. Please be sure to tell Service Men/Women thank you when you see them.

Have a great Memorial Day!!!

Family Weekend

Weekend Shenanigans

This weekend was kind of busy. After spending an ungodly amount of time indoors due to illness and the weather I was happy to be out and about this weekend.

We kicked off the weekend with a little family time at the bowling alley

I lost.

Saturday morning AKA duty called and I headed out to a forum we had regarding Human Trafficking. I think my mouth was open the whole time listening to the statistics. I signed up to volunteer with an agency in the Atlanta area that is working to help girls who want to escape that life. I am going to do a post regarding this issue. Our poor children are getting caught in terrible lives that they don’t have to live. I feel its our duty to help where we can. More to come on that.

Saturday evening I had dinner at Tin Lizzy’s with Bunnie. I love Bunnie, she is just I don’t know. I can’t put my finger on it but she rocks….One time for that margarita and queso that I’ve been craving for months, they were just as good as I needed them to be.

Sunday I went grocery shopping. I am the worse grocery shopper ever. For the past few months my husband has been doing the shopping but because we are down to one car and I had chapter meeting I got up early and took care of my least favorite task.

Shortly after getting all of the groceries in place and cleaning out the refrigerator I was back out the door to chapter meeting. Came home to him cooking dinner. *body rolls* I was in peace and quiet when the Shameless premiere came on.

There. That’s my weekend.

How was yours? Did you grocery shop, clean, sew, read? Do you watch Shameless? Is your week  planned out?
