Christmas Living

Christmas

Hi there! I’ve been taking a little time this holiday season to lay low and regroup and get the master plan together for 2015 so I’ve been rather MIA around these parts. I am slowly getting back in the groove which means I’m back to posting regularly. Did you miss me?!

Christmas Eve we spent making cookies and roasting marshmallows. My husband undertakes this task and the children had a ball.

Christmas Eve after having a few sips of “Santa juice” my husband all of sudden wasn’t feeling so well *insert side eye* I sent him to bed and at 1a started putting together the massive 5 ft. tall dollhouse that we purchased for Addison. After three showings of a Christmas Story later (it ran 24 hours on Christmas Day) at approximately 5:45 I was done. I kind of felt like Clark Griswold at one point when I screwed the walls together and later realized the roof wouldn’t fit on because I put one of the walls on backwards. I had to hold back from drop kicking it like Clark did Santa and those reindeer when he couldn’t get the outside lights on the house to work.

I crashed on the couch because I knew she would be up shortly after I laid down and I was right. at about 7a we had action. We didn’t spend a lot of money on random gifts this year but focused on the few items the children requested and it made for a more fiscally responsible Christmas. We spent the majority of the day at home with family. I laid on the couch and watched movies all day. Totally relaxing.

I hope your family had an amazing Christmas and you are in the home stretch of getting your plan together for the new year.

I am always the one to assemble things in the house so I know your pain. I had to sleep extra light and make sure my boy didn’t go down stairs before I did. I know he would have quietly opened the gifts without us LOL. I love your kids faces and I am looking forward to that kind of excitement in the years to come. Good call on the random gifts but it does make for an even happier face when you save the best for last. LOL Happy Holidays to you and your beautiful family.

I promise, kids bring back the excitement to the holidays. I remember not being able to wait until Adrian knew what was going on to get excited about Christmas. Now he doesn’t believe, the time passes so fast.

Looks like your kids had a great Christmas. I’m horrible at putting things together. So I understand wanting to drop kick that doll house.

I’m glad you guys had an awesome Christmas. I didnt spend too much on Christmas like I usually do either. And like you guys, I stuck to what the kids wanted.. tablets. Added some shoes, clothes, and two more toys and they were as happy as they could be. Lol!

Now it’s time to prepare for 2015. I have my planner ready & I’m using susannah conway’s unravel booklet to help.
