Faith

….the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen. Not the singer

We would all like to go twirling through life with no issues and know where every piece of the puzzle will land and the precise time at which it will do so.

Not so.

If you follow me on Instagram, on Sunday you may have seen the photo I posted of us picking out the lot for our new home. No, it was not the one I posted last week and at this time I have decided to only reveal bits and pieces of this process because this has been the result of MANY years of praying and crying and wondering why it was happening for others and not me and finally getting to a place where I was comfortable being happy for others and thanking God for where I was even if it wasn’t where I wanted to be.

I am still in such awe that this is actually happening and there are yet two major hurdles in front of us that we are believing God for. As we cross those hurdles I will share as a testimony and not as a look what I am getting. So many of us are going through and just need to see God working in other people’s lives to be reminded that He sees after His children cause God knows I had to learn to appreciate God moving in other people’s lives to learn to be happy with my own life.

The next 5 months of my life are going to be a true testament to what looks impossible. We’ll all rejoice on December 14, 2012. I don’t how we’ll get there but I’m believing. That’s all I can I do.

While I was driving the other day I heard “Nothing Yet” and  it came back to me today and I couldn’t remember who sang it so thanks to Latorsha over at Life is Hard, Laugh Anyway for replying to this tweet…

…and just in case you need to hear it..here you go!!

and a huge thanks to Amber at The Yeyo Diaries and Erika at Blulabel Bungalow 😉 I was having an awful day and these ladies were on it. When you don’t have sense enough to pray and believe you need some folks on your team that will get you back in line. I’m grateful.

What’s been pushing the limits of your faith?!!

Great message for me first thing this morning! That’s exactly why I my daughter’s middle name is Faith. It took us YEARS to conceive. It wasn’t until I started being truly content with where God had me and became genuinely happy for others that we became pregnant. It was a process, not gonna lie. When I REALLY started believing that he would bless us with a baby without whining every time someone else got pregnant. A new home is a great thing. I love seeing and hearing about what God is doing for others. Stay in prayer and know that with him you can get over even the biggest hurdles. I can’t wait to see pics of all the progress! Right now, our current move is testing the limits of my faith. Where are we gonna live? How will baby girl do on the trip? Can we get a house on post with enough space? The usual military wife worries…Like 50 Cent said, “Worry or pray, no need for both, right?”

Very timely message for me. We all have SOMETHING. And you’re so right about how we have to appreciate what we have and what is before we can make ourselves open to have more. And that’s not easy – atleast until you “get it”. I’m really happy for you guys and I know your testimony will inspire many to be faithful as they wait for their thing to happen. 🙂

I’m walking in faith about a house situation as well. I want to blog about it but I’m waiting until I have more of the testimony to share. Things are in process and I’m trusting God.

“getting to a place where I was comfortable being happy for others and thanking God for where I was even if it wasn’t where I wanted to be” ——-AMEN!

Steady employment. Specifically since I have transitioned from NYC to DMV area. I was recently laid off at almost 9 months pregnant. And though people say its a blessing in disguise, I felt like a failure and like I had no control of my financial contributions our family. It’s easy with social networks these days to feel like everyone is leaving you behind. I see people getting promotions and I can barely keep a job in this economy to pay off student loan debt. But I enjoy bonding with my son and I am keeping faith that my time will come and things will work out because they always do. Thankfully my Husband has been able keep everything afloat.

Enjoy your time with your baby. I worked so much with my first son that I missed out on everything. This could indeed be a blessing in disguise I know it sounds so cliche but the first year goes by so fast so I was happy to be able to stay home with my second. Enjoy your time.

So glad to help. That is one that I have played many many times! I do know for myself about keeping the faith.
Sometimes you gotta just step out on faith! And yes, sometimes we fall……BUT we get back up. 😉
Hold on buddy! The best is yet to come.

Faith is not easy. I have had to learn that lesson too many times. Thanks for this message Mimi. It was right on time. I seriously got goose bumps reading it. There are so many things going on in my life right now, all I can do is pray AND believe.

Can you believe I woke up with those same scriptures on my mind this morning?! I’m telling you God is good. Remember, His word says that if He can trust us with a little then He can trust us with a lot. And if you’ve never had a lot it can be overwhelming at first. So, I think that sometimes He places us in a position of watching others receive success just so we’ll know what to do and how to get there.

And you’re so true about having great people on your team to pray for you. I’m trying to surround myself by people like because I’m telling you it makes all the difference. Prayer moves mountains and nobody will convince me otherwise. I had something happen today that proved that and I’m thanking God for showing up when He did.

Wow Mimi, this is why I love your blog because you are so honest. I am slowly but surely getting to that point in my life where I can geninuely be happy for others. I have to keep reminding myself that we all havce different struggles and we all get our blessings accordingly. I would love to share this with my FB/Twitter friends.

It is a slow walk. A sloooooooow one, at least it was for me. Our struggles are indeed our own and we have to know that our blessings will be equal to those struggles. Thank you so much for sharing!!

I know this feeling too, Mimi. I am learning more and more each day to rejoice in the blessings of others as well. There were times when I felt like I want it to hurry up and be my turn though lol. But just as you stated, God looks after all His children and we all have our seasons for blessings. Right now I have to work hard at sowing, so that when reaping season comes I will be ready! Gotta also remember to be thankful for what we have now, because if we can’t thank God for all He’s given us up to this point, how much will we appreciate what He’s gonna do? This post was so on time and I’m so glad you shared it with us. I wish you the best in your future endeavors and know that God will come through and move for you and your family. Just trust Him =)

This sentence, “So many of us are going through and just need to see God working in other people’s lives to be reminded that He sees after His children cause God knows I had to learn to appreciate God moving in other people’s lives to learn to be happy with my own life” makes me weep. I thank God for bringing me to this place. It has been a long spiritual journey for me, but God NEVER FAILS! I’m so glad to know that I am not alone and that being happy for others’ blessings is truly something that God helps us to learn.

God NEVER FAILS!! I have to keep reminding myself that at times. It is indeed a spiritual journey. I think the key is being open to instruction and stepping out of our flesh. It’s just so hard sometimes!

      Thank you for stopping by

Ahh…I love this post. How do we expect to be blessed when we envy the blessings of the next person? We have to learn to believe, be happy, and appreciate what we do have. Congrats on this journey!

“Faith INCLUDES the journey” is a saying that I made up. I live by it (as well as the serenity prayer), and it’s gotten me through a lot. I recently briefly mentioned on my blog about my own little run-in with faith. I do believe God takes us through things to strengthen our faith and remind us that He is in control. And He has your back, no matter what the outcome is.

I pray that the next few months comes easier for you and your family. And even if they’re not, that you continue to keep the faith — knowing that God’s got this. Everything you go through is for a reason. At the end of every journey, there is a reward. It may be a house, a baby, or simply a lesson learned. But that reward is always there.

Keep the faith! We’re rooting for ya!
