First Day of School + Kindergarten

August 3, 2015 my last baby as I know it went to Kindergarten. I won’t lie and say it wasn’t hard. I put on my personal Facebook page that I sat in the car and cried after I left her classroom and I got a variety of comments from those that understood to those that low key made it seem that I was crazy for shedding a tear. I suppose my tears aren’t just because she went to school but a part of me is sad that my mom doesn’t get to experience these first and last moments with me.

So yes, I cried. Not a ton but enough, and then I got home and was able to work for five hours straight.  I was fine then.

Our morning went easy, I didn’t put them on the school bus the first day for obvious reasons. I took our obligatory first day photos outside before heading out.

Traffic was awful. I called myself leaving at a decent time to beat the rush. I called wrong.

We made it into the school just as the bell was ringing. Didn’t stop me from being a total creeper and sticking around past my welcome. I mean she waved me good bye. I suppose as soon as your children step foot into elementary school your cool factor moves to being embarrassing.

No worries, I did capture a few photos amid her being perturbed by my first day presence. Girls are ALOT!

They did ride the bus home and I anxiously stood waiting at the bus stop to hear all about her first day. She got off the bus as if she was an old pro and told me she had a great day and that the bus ride was bumpy but she liked it.

So just like that. I have two children in elementary school. Time is moves so slow yet so fast at the same d*mn time.  I always say I’m so thankful for my love of over sharing and blogging because subconsciously I have record of tons of life events dating back to 2010. Here is the post from when my son went to Kindergarten. For some reason when I changed servers all of the photos didn’t transfer so the post doesn’t have pictures but here is his first day.

…and cause I’m a hoarder I still have that shirt from his first day and will forever keep that maxi dress she wore. For sentimental value you know.

Anybody else cry? How was the first day back for your children?

Aww look at your babies! Your pictures are beautiful and guess what? CRY all you want! These are your kids and your memories. Know that your mommy is watching from above and is whispering in your ear “good job.” Hugs darling. Oh I’m a hoarder too. I still can’t decide if I should let go over ever first holiday outfit from the almost 3 year old. First day of school outfits will definitely be kept! DEFINITELY.

I feel like I JUST saw his first day pics and now look at the little man he is! Awww I’m glad Addison had a good first day and I totally get the tears. We’re starting a new school, a bigger school in Sept and I’m sure I’ll shed a few thug tears before I get on the train too.

It seems as though we were just potty training these girls and now they are off to big school. Bittersweet for sure.

Girl! The struggle is so real, but we must teach them and let them grow and fly. I should be that way in Oct. hope we can get together.

Wait, my boy is in 4th grade now. Faints…. let me take a second to get myself together. I still remember him going off to kindergarten. He’s going to have a GREAT year because it’s something about 4th grade that’s the absolute best. I loved teaching 4th grade.

Addison looks amazing. I love her white sundress and it’s the perfect 1st day outfit. She gave you the “mom, please leave” look. That’s a good thing. Her independence will go far.

I love your back to school posts.

(((Hugs))) a few more years until middle school then driving.

YES! Your buddy is in the 4th grade. I remember your comments from when he was playing football. It is truly like y’all have watched them grow into these amazing little people.

I give you all of the side eyes about middle school and driving but the truth is it will be here soon and very soon!

I can totally relate! My oldest started Kindergarten last year and I was a mess! When I sent him off to first grade this school year, I didn’t think I would cry, but I totally did!

And, I can completely relate about standing around like a creeper!

#CreepLife!!! I think I will always be a mess with her because she is the last one. Her growing and doing these things means I no longer have a baby and it makes me sad….some days!

I love your story – thank you for sharing. My youngest is headed to Pre-K this year, but I just wasn’t ready for him to go 5 full days. We found a part time pre-K 🙂 They both look like they will have a wonderful year!

They are both so adorable! My first baby goes off to kindergarten next year and I don’t know how I’ll handle it. I’m sure I’ll be a “creeper” like you! I hope your babies have fantastic school years!

Such a sentimental moment! It is so sweet that your little man was holding her hand and helping her off the bus! That is a sweet picture you will cherish for many many years to come!

Our children are the same age, and mine will start 4th and kindergarten in a few weeks. Your children are precious. I am worried about how I will be. that day.

Let me go follow you so I can be sure to offer a kind word when your day comes! Such a bittersweet moment to watch them cross the line from being your baby to an independent elementary schooler.

I love her hair!!! I could not see it this detailed on FB. I WAS CALLED A stalker the first day by my best friend because I may or may not have been riding by passing the school after an appointment for Michael and spotted kids playing on the playground. I politely went to take a peak and there she was. I didn’t watch long because some of the neighbors were giving me major side eye! I told her, I would rather be stalking her than someone else!
