Hallway Makeover

Thank you HGTV HOME™ by Sherwin-Williams for sponsoring this post. Visit HGTV HOME™ by Sherwin-Williams for the latest in color inspo and get started on your home project today!

For quite some time, I’ve diligently been pinning  and tucking away tons of amazing ideas for picture gallery walls that I’ve loved for the day when we would actually take out the time to paint over the last of the depressing browns that plagued our home from the previous owners.

Slowly but surely you’ve watched us transform all of the rooms from deep and dark to light and airy. We had two spaces left to conquer, the hallway and the dining room, and I’m glad to say we can finally check the hallway off. I couldn’t be happier with the result and the blank slate that now exists for us to display our family photos.

I selected Antique White (HGSW4047) a color from Individual Mix, one of the the HGTV Home™ by Sherwin-Williams 2018 Color Collections of the Year. Initially I selected a beautiful color that didn’t pair as well as I thought with my existing living room color, I then decided on the Antique White from the Individual Mix collection and couldn’t be happier with the creamy white that pairs perfectly with the existing room colors that open into the hallway. Knowing I want to bring more color into our home, yet needing a neutral for the wall I decided on Individual Mix  because I loved the complimentary colors in the collection. Simply stated, they have taken the guess work out of what colors I’ll be adding in with the runner and photos.

Color harmony is very important when you have an open floorplan. From the front door you get a peek into our kitchen, dining room, hallway and my son’s room. It is very important that all of the colors work well together. If you are looking to take on a paint project take the guesswork and frustration out of coordinating colors in your home by using one of the HGTV HOME™ by Sherwin-Williams new 2018 Color Collections of the Year using the INFINITY  Paint and Primer. The Color Collections are designed to work beautifully together in any space. All you have to do is choose the designer-inspired look you want to achieve from themes like Next Journey, Future Thinker, Thoughtful Living or Individual Mix.

With four on-trend Color Collections from HGTV HOME™ by Sherwin-Williams, it’s easier than ever to bring harmony to your home. Each Color Collection has a range of colors that go together in any combination, helping take the guesswork out of choosing color and giving your home a sense of room-to-room harmony.

This is just phase I in the makeover, we will be taking another coordinating color from the Individual Mix Color Collection and painting the ceiling as well as adding some moulding. This palette is making it very easy for me to create a gallery hallway incorporating other colors from the palette into the rug runner and wall art that will be installed. Stay tuned for part II of our transformation!

I love seeing you and your family tackle home DIY projects. You inspire me to want to do more home DIY projects. Every time I see you painting something I think I need to finish painting the beadboards in my kitchen. I started painting them last summer, but then my mom told me I need to fill in the cracks with some chaulking. I bought the chaulking but I still have not attempted to chaulk the cracks. I keep telling myself after I finish my next sewing project I’ll get back to painting. I’ve made like 4 things since I first told myself that…lol.
