Me

In the New Year {Me Edition}

With the year quickly closing in on us, I think it is only natural to reflect on what was and make plans on what’s to come. Like everyone else I have been pondering these things amongst the hustle and bustle of preparing for the holidays, building my brand and taking care of my family.

I am afraid to say that I think one of the major changes that I am going to be making  will not settle well with others. Oh well. See, I’m the type of person that ignores other people’s madness. If I am bothered by things or comments they make I tend to ignore them, out of the sheer fact that I don’t care and I accept people as they are. Unfortunately I am seeing people rattling off their feelings and the like and their tendency to ignore how I am and quite frankly I’m tired of it. In the new year no more.

If I have a problem with it, it’s getting put out there. Yes, you and your madness will be called out. My feelings will be heard. Everyone else is getting it off their chest…why not me? Don’t answer that!

Organization is a must. I have been following alot of blogs and diligiently working at designing a system that will work for me and keep me AND my car somewhat organized.

Gone are the days of starting and not finishing. The fear of failure has always crippled me, but not in 2012. I would really rather fail trying than to fail sitting around pondering the what ifs. Ya feel me?

Taking care of me will be a priority. A least a facial, or massage once a month. Call me a Diva if you must.

I will regain my style. I have turned a bit conservative. Instead of fitting into the standard of what a mom “should” look like I am up to setting a new standard. Watch out now

That pretty much sums up some of the major changes I will be making concerning myself in the new year.

This is my new motto..You can steal it if you want to. I stole it from Pinterest!!!!! Consider me liberated…Watch out 2012

You said call you a Diva like that’s a bad thing! LOL! I think these are all reasonable goals. I am always a fan of New Year goals that focus on bettering oneself…I plan to set a few before January 1, and like you said, I will finish what I start! Have a Merry Christmas Diva!

I’m with you on the style– I was so funky and had my own little style that I loved two years ago when I lived in the D but now that I’m in backwards Louisiana— I’ve kind of dumbed myself down a little bit but no more! I intend to get my swag back full force in 2012 🙂

    Love it, Mimi!
My new motto for 2012 is “I can’t do it all, but I can do a lot.” I’m preserving my sexy, too. We’re both going to be some fierce Mamas!

Love it, Mimi! Way to go!
My motto for 2012 is “Who Gon’ Stop Me?” (courtesy of Jay-Z & Kanye). I’ve put off doing a lot of stuff for my self to give and help everyone else. It ends ASAPually! And I’m with you on the facials and massage. Get it, mama!!!!! Happy Holidays!

Good for you, Mimi. All of your 2012 plans seem reachable, for sure. I’ll be doing a bit of a post on mine soon, but my top priority is one of yours — taking better care of myself. That’ll make me a better mama, wife, teacher, etc. An absolute must for 2012.

I just want to “do more” in the new year and stop just thinking about what I want to do. Fear of failing has stopped me from doing too much.

    Love the post!

Yes taking care of myself is a top priority for me in the New Year. When I see cute clothes at Tarjay I will say no and go to my section and by me something. This New Year is going to be a great one

Good for you Mimi! I can relate to much of what you said! I have a plan to have a vision board party like Oprah talked about in the past! It will encourage some of my friends as well as myself to prioritize and enforce Let’s see what 2012 brings! Happy Holidays!

I’m so with you on these goals. I bite my tongue a lot to spare other people’s feelings and the favor is not returned. Hmmm…will be workibg that out in ’12. Too funny, I have been talking a lot lately about how my fashion has slipped. I am working on that as we speak!!! Just ordered a thing or two. More to come! New me in 2012!

Awesome post Mimi! The new year is all about doing it differently for me. I’m going to start having my surroundings reflect how I am and how I feel. Not looking to please anyone else. I need to put me first. I miss how I used to dressed, I’m taking that back. As for everything else, no more fear. I have to at least try it once.
