Inspiration Needed

Next weekend the Mr. and I are headed to the North Ga. mountains for our annual couples getaway. My MIL in law is coming to town to watch the children so we can avoid the mishap from last year found—-> here

Well now that I am trying to be more “domesticated” I have decided to try to whip up something special for our snacks and desserts during the weekend. Not having a clue where to start I am currently looking at Pinterest for inspiration. Here is what I’ve come up with. I’ll make sure to get pics of everything. Hopefully they won’t turn out like the cookies found—-> here.

When was the last time you got of town for a quick getaway? Are you traveling for the holidays?

An annual couples getaway sounds like fun. I’m going to add that to my to-do list. I’m happy if the Mister and I get to go for a night on the town, let alone a getaway. The Smores Martini looks yummy. Let us know how it turns out.

Thank you for featuring my smoretini cocktail. I do a new cocktail every Friday…bet you would also love the most recent one. Coffee with Kahlua and tequila. I even wondered about that but it’s also topped with some vanilla ice cream and the tequila gives it a great bit of ‘fire’ – the only fire here since I didn’t risk the trick of pouring flaming booze between glasses like they do in Cabo!

Mimi, all of these look really good. I hope you and your husband enjoy your couple’s retreat.

Hmm, thinking about it, the last time I went out with just me and my hubby was before my daughter was born. Yup, it’s time for another one.

They all look delish. The frozen hot chocolate looks the simplest to make. What do you think of making gingerbread ice cream cookie sandwiches? Super simple, just requires sandwiching ice cream between some cookies, pop in the freezer for ten minutes and serve. And if you want to get festive, roll the sides in red and green sprinkles so that it sticks to the ice cream.

Those hot chocolate stirrers are such a cute idea! They get my vote. 🙂

We try to get away few times a year (well more like twice). Our last weekend getaway was to Palm Springs (the California Desert) is August for our anniversary. I’m thinking of planning another trip in January. Time alone and AWAY is so crucial! Enjoy!
