She So Random

How was Thanksgiving?

We laid low over here. As you can probably tell I failed miserably at NaBloPoMo this year. It wasn’t all my fault. Our internet went out..as in Charter had to come out here and do something to the line so I blame Charter that I wasn’t able to finish the challenge. To be honest I’ve been struggling with blogging for the past month or so. I just don’t know if I’m really into it any more, or if I just need to take a break or just take it back to the day when I didn’t care about all of the other stuff that came along with it other than having people genuinely come here and interact. Quietly LaShawn was all up in my head when she wrote this post

Anywho! Thanksgiving was great around these parts. I cooked a little sumthin’ sumthin’, family brought over a little sumthin’ sumthin’ and we enjoyed each other as family should. We hosted at our house so the refrigerator needs to be cleaned out. I just don’t even want to think about that part…ugh.

I didn’t hit up any Black Friday places except Target and I didn’t get what I came for but after reading about the aftermath of some of the activities on Black Friday to be honest this year was probably the last year I will be headed out. I am coming to realize it really isn’t that serious….We’ll see. I say that every year!

So we finally got an Elf on the Shelf this year. She has been named Bella and I won’t tell you how thrilled I am that she is a little chocolate drop like my Addison.

Life Weekend

Weekend Wrap Up – Bad Appraisal & a Tea Party

Hi Cyber Friends!

Hope your weekend was well. I can’t hardly believe we are almost done with July. It is almost like it didn’t exist. My children will be starting school in just 2 weeks and I can hardly believe it. This summer has been so rainy, I just don’t feel like we took advantage of it, but we always have the fall to look forward to.

This Friday we got the gut wrenching news that the house we currently have a contract on did not appraise. Seriously this $*&^ makes me want to holler. Again, $50K under seems to be the magic number. I just wanted to cry but managed to wrangle the tears and remind myself that ultimately God knows what we need and He will supply it in due time but I wasn’t in the mood to rationalize that on Friday night. What did I do? Closed my door and dared anyone enter.

Method and Orla Kiely Giveaway!!

Unless you’re new here, I think you all are pretty much aware that my family and I are in the process of building our dream home. With this being my “big girl house” I have already come to the conclusion that I am going to need to step up the décor game. No more mediocre pots and pans, I want everything to be pretty down to the tiniest of  details.

Method has partnered with Orla Kiely, an Irish fashion designer to bring pretty to the mundane with their newly designed containers of all purpose cleaner, hand and dish soaps. I was sent these two products to review and I just happen to think they bring a great touch of color and whimsy even to this house.

Orla Kiely for Method

The dish soap has this awesome pump feature that greatly controls how much product you are using. It came in the Tomato Vine scent which I didn’t think I would like but surprisingly it has a very nice scent. I just loved the hand soap in the White Nectarine fragrance. Great for spring and summer, it had both floral and fruit notes in it but was not overpowering.

While these products are a few cents more than traditional hand and dish soaps they are non-toxic, naturally derived and are composed of products that are friendly to pets, people and most importantly the planet. All bottles are 100% recyclable.

I know you was all like blah, blah, blah.. Well here is the good stuff. You can enter to win this. A bag stuffed with the entire Method Orla Kiely line valued at $230. Enter on Method’s FB page HERE…it’s Easy!

Beauty Nail Polish

NPA…Nail Polish Anonymous

Hi.

My name is Mimi.

*waits for you to say Hi, Mimi*

I’m addicted to nail polish. I don’t know when it happened or why but its out of control.

Whenever I go in the store, I try to look straight ahead and steer clear of the aisles that house these little bottles of internal joy but they “be” calling my name.

Mimi..Mimi….MiiiiiiiMiiiiiiiii. We know you hear us.

Then I go to them. I buy 1, 2 or even 3 bottles at a time.

I need help.

Here’s the proof:

My nail plates and stamper...that I don't know how to use

Awful. I know. Total count is 130 +/- 5 that are missing because little hands got into them. Sad part is now that I have most of the drug store brands my plan is to move on to building my Essie and OPI collections. There is a warehouse in Miami that sells them for $3-$4 a bottle. My friend Sheena is going to take me when I go down there in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait. It really shouldn’t be that serious…but it is. *hangs head in shame*

How many bottles of nail polish do you have?
