Super Bowl Gospel Celebration

With the pending relaunch of Divinitee, I have been doing some research regarding my target audience and events that I should be attending for networking or vendor opportunities. One that came to my attention was the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. Who knew?

This year the Super Bowl will be held in Indianapolis and the concert will kick off the weekend festivities on Friday, February 3, 2012 and will be held at Clowes Memorial Hall on the campus of Butler University. Football players and gospel singers in one place. Who knew?

Some pretty heavy hitters have made appearances in the past…Donovan McNabb, Ray Lewis and Tony Dungy are just a few NFL representatives that have attended the event along side Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Hezekiah Walker.

Tickets are currently on sale through Ticketmaster and the official roster of performers and guests will be released next month. A portion of the concert proceeds go to local and national charities.

I know I have a few readers in that area, and I know back in the day the girls and I used to travel to the Super Bowl without a ticket between us to hang out and kick it. If you are going to be anywhere near during Super Bowl time go get your praise and party on. Wish my funds would allow me to be there.

If you want more information you can follow along on Facebook and on Thursday there will be a Twitter party from 9p – 10p with prizes. Follow on Twitter and use the hashtag #SuperBowlGC to join in the fun.

I don’t know about you but I’ve been struggling with making time for God. Such a priority that I’ve been putting on the back burner for far too long. In the new year this MUST change. I always get so flustered when I feel disconnected and that’s how I’ve been feeling lately. I digress.

Have you ever been to a Gospel Concert? Who did you see?

I haven’t been a gospel concert in forever. I saw Hezekiah Walker and the LFC about 15 years ago. I was unfamiliar with the NFL Gospel choir until a clip that circulated around the net last year, just prior to the Super Bowl. I love the time that the guys put in fellowshipping with one another and praising the Lord.

Sounds like fun event. I haven’t been to any gospel concerts with big names.
I LOVE going to church!!! I don’t walk, I run to the church when I can. I know I don’t make as much time as I should so when I can get a word from the lord, I am all over it!

I’ve never been to a huge gospel concert, but I use to love going to the concerts at my church. I also loved watching the McDonald’s Gospelfest on TV. Haven’t done either in a long wile….sigh!
