travel Weekend

Weekend Wrap Up

Hey!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We were fairly busy around these parts, just enough not to be bored or overwhelmed. The weather was absolutely amazing. I am sure we are in for one more cold snap before its all said and done but this weekend was the epitome of perfect spring weather.

Saturday morning I spoke on the subject of internet safety and social media etiquette to a group of young ladies that are enrolled in a program that I volunteer with. Later that evening I attended a formal event at which I took no photos..sorry!  I arrived home some time after midnight.

Sunday morning, I woke up and Lil Mama and I hit the road. We drove about 3.5 hours south of here to pick up my bonus daughter because she will be spending her Spring Break with us. Mr. and my son stayed behind so it was just the girls and I. Let me say I hate driving and it is even worse to do that type of drive and then have to turn around and come straight back…I made it with the help of some coffee and an extremely talkative 2 year old.

..about that sticky console…my car is always a mess. ALWAYS

Traveling

Got to Tifton, did a quick pit stop to include gas, the purchase of a blue Icee and some Zaxby’s and we were back on the road.

Of course they were no help on the way back, they slept and I used that time to think in peace and quiet. The road will do that to you. Although I hate driving I am thankful for those few hours of road time. Got a lot of things figured out, or at least in theory. I’m actually excited about the coming week. Not to mention I get to spend it with both of my girls.

My girl was like what picture? I’m hungry!!

How was your weekend? Are your children on Spring Break?

I love road trips…as long as I’m not doing all the driving lol. I think it’s so great that you have that amazing relationship with your bonus daughter. Enjoy Spring Break! Thank God Chunks’s school doesn’t have all that yet lol

I feel ya on driving! I had to go to Boston and come back all in one day (about 9 hours RT) to get Nia and bring her home after our cruise. It was brutal but I enjoyed the quiet time and listening to NPR without interruption!

A roadtrip every now and then is always great. Love that blue icee. Those are the best. Yum! I had a semi-simple weekend. I purchased a dining room table from a co-worker and I love it. However, renting a van traveling an hour there and an hour back to get it was a lot but it was all worth it.

Yikes…the gas prices.. after paying about $.33 a gallon for the past few months, I just can’t.

Love the pic of you and the girls.

We went to the Taste of Dubai over the weekend.

I like road trips (when I am comfortable and we can stop often enough, lol) but I hate driving too. I like to drive first get it over with and let me husband drive the rest of the way, that way I can sleep, chill whatever the rest of the trip. Our son loves them too as long as he has mommies iPad, his 3DS or his galaxy tab. Speaking of son, the county he is in doesn’t go on Spring Break until the 2nd week in April.

I truly believe I spend most of my time driving, especially since my children are at two different schools. Even though I hate it, there are times where I enjoy it. Like you, I also use that time to think when I have to travel long distances. I think what I like most are the trio concerts that my children and I perform when we’re listening to Radio Disney. (Radio Disney is a blessing!)

My weekend was pretty cool. My kids start Spring Break next week and I can’t wait. I could use a late morning!
