Me NaBloPoMo

What Was I Doing Again?

So I’m in that space again. That space that has me pondering my purpose in life. I have written often  about my desires to own my own business. To be more to my family than a wife and a mother. Yet, I still have failed to succeed at this.

I have so many good ideas, yet my execution skills leave a ton to be desired. I’m easily discouraged and my fear of failure leaves me standing still. I truly believe it is better to try something than to let fear keep you planted on safe terrain. Too bad some parts of me didn’t get the memo.

I don’t beat myself up about it. I am a true believer in timing is everything. Yet, these days my judgement is a little clouded over whether or not my time hasn’t come or if my fear is actually holding me back.

Holding me back from what I don’t know. I start things, I don’t finish them. It’s November and sadly I have completed none of the things I set out to do this year. Again, I’m not beating myself up I just want to get to the point of finding one thing that I am good at AND enjoy and putting my all into it. I wish I knew what it was.

Have you found your purpose? Are you pursuing it or are you like me, notorious for starting a million things with good intentions and following through with none of them.

You know me..right? What do you think I would be good at?!!!

You are very talented in many areas but I think you would do really well as a photographer.

I understand exactly how you feel. I can never seem to achieve the goals that I set out for myself. The biggest thing is not being discouraged, as hard as it sounds. With the right attitude and motivation you could achieve a lot more than what you’ve set ahead for yourself.

All great things started with an idea, remember that.

I am still not sure of my “career” purpose, but I feel like I am on the path God has for me.
I think that your photos are just beautiful. I am not sure of the doors you are looking for with that as an business, but I know some people get started by doing school photos. At my son’s preschool a lady does photos twice a year and works from home. Just a thought……..
In my blog readings somewhere, I can’t remember….. but they talked about instead of listing what you didn’t get done, you should list the things that you did get done (even if they weren’t on the list). Try it, you might be surprised. 😉

I love your photos and I think that is something you are good at among everything else. I also love the thrifting idea either a store or something in fashion. It’s hard because I struggled with just because you are good at something does not mean it’s a passion. I am good at cooking but it’s not my passion that’s why I switched up and did the party theme idea. I love putting things together especially how I lay my food out so why not do it with putting themes together. I don’t even know if I will stick with this venture but so far I am super excited about it which I have not been excited about anything like this in a while so I think I hit the nail on the head. You will find what it is you are suppose to do until then one of the greatest gifts we have is to be the best mother and wives we can be.

While your photos are beautiful, I really think you have a knack for finding great items while thrifting. I think that is something you should look at seriously. In this economy there are probably people that would love “new” items but don’t have it in the budget. Enter you to help them get new to them items. Also you put things together and I know a lot of people need help with that…maybe you can also help someone with what’s in their closet and putting outfits together. Then if they don’t have staple pieces, you can go looking for those items via consignment.

As for me? I seem to know what others should be doing but never what MY purpose is. Jack of all trades, master of none.

I think if you take your photography really seriously they’ll be a great career for you. Even if it was a just a side gig.

I also think being some sort of stylist would be something that you’d be very good at.

I asked you to be Jasmine’s agent but you turned me down! lol

But seriously, you’re good at so many thing, you’ll find the thing you WANT to do that doesn’t feel like a “Job”

I know I want to go in a different direction with my life but I just need to figure out what I’d like to do 1st.

You’re great at photography. Take it and run with it. Start a photography page and showcase your work. Get a few people together and do test shows to show your range; nature, people, parties, events, individual, family, etc. The holidays are coming, spring weddings, graduations, and all that is transitional. Fall has beautiful colors, capture the changing leaves.

    I support you!

I completely understand! I’m a big believer that you should work a little bit at a time at however many ways your passions are split up. Sounds like you’re a serious multi-tasker and like me plagued by analysis paralysis. It’s so easy to get caught up in that! I’m with Optimistic Mom on listing what you did accomplish. When I do that I feel so much better!

Analysis paralysis? Love that term. Exactly what I have. Thanks for the diagnosis!

I’m constantly asking this question because I’m still looking for my purpose in life in terms of career anyway! I thought you were going to do the photograph…I thought some of your shots were amazingly good!
