Chewy Ginger Snaps

Serves: 3 dozen...ish
  • 1 cup of Sugar
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsps baking soda
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup of shortening
  • Parchment Paper
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Cream shortening and sugar with a hand or bowl mixer
  3. Add in egg and molasses, mix until it is just combined
  4. Follow with flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and ginger (mix in well but don't over beat)
  5. Place the dough on parchment paper. Please use parchment paper or a non stick pan. TRUST ME
  6. Bake for 6-8 minutes
  7. Allow them to cool on the pan for a few minutes, then transport to a plate or cooling rack
