Weekend

Weekend Wrap Up

How was your weekend?

I’m starting to realize a new pattern in my life and I like it. The vibe has been real chill, relaxed and just easy. I pray it stays that way and pretty much the three aforementioned words summed up our weekend. It could  be that with moving and all of the unknown that tormented me for the end of last year and practically half of this year I had thrown myself into a tizzy  and forgot what normal was. I won’t speculate, I’ll just live in the moment.

This weekend was no different. Friday, my niece came and spent the evening with us. We had pizza and settled in downstairs to watch a movie.

Nia and Addison

Saturday, we had a noon call time at the football field. I will say I started off the day with a little bit of a poor attitude. My husband has a tendency to run about his business and leave the little messy pieces for me to pick up. Like oh, filling water bottles for his team, stopping to get Gatorade, grabbing an extra pair of football pants. You know the things that require stops along the way and lugging things and keeping up with a three year old at the same time. Yeah.

By the time I made it to the field I was hot and bothered but I got it together. Let’s say the team mom and I are slightly bumping heads…that’s another story for another day.

Football I

So we lost. 19 to 0. My husband was mad….Men and football. I tell ya! I thought I was the only one hearing all about the loss when I called my bestie, whose husband also happens to coach a team that lost and she was getting the same ear full. There is comfort in knowing you are not alone on certain things!

Football III

I had to remind him that plenty of those babies had never set foot on a football field and there is only so much a scrimmage can do to prepare them. Those little jokers had heart. They made the other team work for those touchdowns I will say that.

football II

After getting home Saturday, I took out the time to meal plan for the week and craft up a grocery list and then carried myself to the grocery store. As I am trying to get more organized the idea is I would like to get everything out of the way on Saturdays so that Sundays I don’t have to leave the house unless I absolutely have to.

Sunday, I braided someone’s hair and that took up the majority of the day. I might be that ghetto hair braider that stops and talks on the phone, and fixes their kids dinner. Oh well!! I got it done…in 2 days!

How was your weekend? Anybody hit the football field?

Picking up the little pieces along the way sounds all too familiar to me! Not to mention getting a kid in and out of the car for every stop. In the heat. I feel your pain. I hope you can get things straightened out with the team Mom because some of that def sounds like her “job”. Glad to hear things are settling down for you.

Ahhh football. People think I am the team mom this year and just bypass our team mom and come to me…I am not here for football so don’t come to me. They call me frown kitty on the football field because I don’t wanna be there but the hubs…..you know how they are…..I didn’t put my foot down hard enough. Glad you are in chill mode pass some of that over here.

No football field for us, but we did hit up a park. We passed on going to the park down the street from us because there was some suspicious activity that went down there on Friday night and the police had it on lock. So, we’ll be steering clear of that. But it was fun to get out the house and not see a drop of rain!

My weekend was great. We had football from 9-1 on Sunday (two kids playing on two different teams).

Haven’t set foot on a football field yet, but I just may make my way to Houston to see SU get beat. (Hey, it’s the truth.)

I’ve found that doing everything on Saturday after finally peeling back my covers and getting out of the bed at noon with only a little prep left on Sunday just makes my week go by much more smoother.

Nope, no Football field over here as of yet but we will be hitting the field soon because we have family members & friends who play. Additionally, my husband is the Announcer at our community park. Ugh… Lol!
