Planning 101

Hi, I’m Mimi. Thank you very much for taking the time to visit this resource page that I created to help you get AND stay organized using some of the planning resources that I mentioned during our session!

I know it was a lot of information, so I’m happy to recap some of the things we talked about in case you need to refer back to them at any time.

I’ve written a post that breaks out what you should consider when actually choosing a planner, click here for that goodness!

There’s even a video if you prefer that:

PLANNING BASICS

  • BRAIN DUMP – This steps involves writing down everything you need to do within a specified period of time. I mean EVERYTHING!
  • BATCH ACTIVITIES – Nobody has time to run to the store multiple times a week. Take the time to see where you combine similar tasks. This could mean grabbing a birthday card while grocery shopping, or doing all of your laundry on one day instead of multiple days. The goal is to find where you can save time without having to touch multiple activities more than once a week if you can help it.
  • MAKE LISTS – There is a list for everything. I’ve written a post that might help you with some of the lists that can help simplify your life. Click here.
  • EXECUTE -This is the big one. All the planning in the world won’t help if you don’t execute it. I’m a fan of setting timers, and time chunking. Experiment and see what may work best for you.

This is where the rabbit hole begins. There are so many types of options and stickers, designs, Facebook groups, Instagram hashtags, YouTube channels and the list goes on. Delve into the creative portion of the planner world at your own risk.

Here’s a few of my favorite sites, channels, and product lines that fall under this category. Shop at your own risk.
