Back to School Days

August 4th and August 5th symbolized the first day of 3rd grade and Pre-K for Adrian and Addison. I would be telling a huge tale if I didn’t disclose the fact that I walked Adrian to the bus stop with a smile on my face and and nearly skipped while walking Addison into her classroom for the first day.

I love my children and we had an amazing, action pack filled summer but it is time and I am happy that they are back in the classroom challenging their little minds!

Homework Space Progress

My goal was to have the room completed by the start of school. I didn’t meet that deadline, what’s new. However I do get an A for almost. By the first day of school the desk was attached to the wall and there were chairs.

Although I’m not totally sold on the wall color that the previous owners left, I needed to pick my battles and at the time we were in the process of painting Addison’s room and heaven knows the effort was more needed there so the color stays for now.

Today, was the day. I sent my son off to his first day of third grade with his book bag, supplies and a phone. His school has implemented something new called B.Y.O.T. yes, that stands for Bring Your Own Technology and it supports phones and tablets. Although I’m not in total agreement with the policy, I am now leaning towards the idea that I would like him to be able to get in touch with us in an emergency, especially since he is now old enough to participate in after school activities. Not quite ready to invest in a contractual phone I went back to Walmart for their Family Mobile Unlimited talk text and data/web plan for him.

2015 Ikea Catalog + $100 Giveaway

I sweat the release of new Ikea catalogs like I can’t really get in my car and drive 25 miles and see the real thing in the store. Something about the catalog in all of its shiny splendor gets my creative juices flowing. I fold pages down, I pretty much study it…..then get in the store and forget what I came for. Remind me to tell you that story
