Aquaphor – Cold Weather Relief for the Entire Family

I have been compensated for this post. It is my desire to bring you information about brands that may be useful to you and/or your family. All opinions are mine.

One part of being a mother is always being prepared and thinking through everything making sure you have an arsenal of products ready and available to ward off any type of accident or ailment. I am currently in the process of stocking my car with things that I will need for the colder months. I keep hand sanitizer, bandages, wipes and a plethora of other products in my car because you just never know what you might need when dealing with children.

As the holidays approach we all know there will be lots of errands to run, tons of time spent getting in and out of the car with children, and with the cold and dry weather, lots of wiping of runny noses. I keep tissues in my car but repeated blowing and wiping leaves little noses raw and uncomfortable. Keeping smaller tubes of Aquaphor Healing Ointment in the car to soothe and relieve raw noses, lips and chapped hands,  is a great tool for the whole family to use in combating some of the discomfort caused by cold weather.

Additionally, Aquaphor, is great for helping protect skin to help heal minor cuts and scrapes If you have a little runner like I do, you may know all too well about those little hand and knee scrapes that happen at the most inopportune times. For those moments, I suggest storing a tube of Aquaphor in your car or purse to help with those little nicks and scrapes while on the go.

The .35 oz. size is great for travel, sticking in your purse, or in your kids’ pockets to give them relief when the elements get to be too much and they need something to soothe windburn or other uncomfortable conditions that result from being outdoors, and in my daughter’s case running and tripping!

When it comes to family use, Aquaphor is a must-have product to have on hand for all seasons. From battling weather extremes, to bandaging boo boos, to giving your lips a little shine and protection when you need it most, you will definitely find great value in all Aquaphor products.

Give Good Face for the Holidays with the Roc Retinol Resolution

I am a beauty Ambassador for RoC. I have received compensation for this post.

Holiday parties are on the horizon honey! People you haven’t seen all year will be in best form and you can’t afford to be caught slipping. While you are picking out your finest in holiday gear be sure to pay your skin special attention in these most important weeks leading up to entertaining season. Whether rocking Uggs to the party or those stilettos that live in the cloth bag at the top of your closet, nothing will set it off better than your skin being at it’s best.

RoC is encouraging women to get ready for the Holiday season by taking their #RocRetinolResolution and taking heed to a few skincare tips by New York board certified dermatoligist, Dr. Debra Jaliman. Dr. Jaliman has these tips to offer:

“With the holidays fast-approaching, it’s important to get into a regular skincare routine so you can maintain a heathy glow for the festivities. Your body works to repair the skin overnight, so I always encourage a good bedtime facial regimen. RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream is clinically proven and contains a mix of pure retinol and an essential mineral complex, which is designed to work through the night to help reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles. RoC® RETINOL is up to 2x stronger than imitators based on vitro RETINOL activity in this night cream.”

“Holiday parties may result in a few late nights, so it’s important to stay hydrated and use an eye cream to combat dark circles. I recommend RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Eye Cream, which works immediately to smooth skin’s surface. Start now and with continued use you’ll notice a visible reduction in not only those dark circles, but also wrinkles around the eyes, crow’s feet and puffiness!

“You may apply more makeup than normal during the holiday season, so it’s extra important to cleanse your face at night with a gentle cleanser. Useful tip, use lukewarm water instead of hot water to avoid drying out your skin.”

These are just a few useful tips to use not only during the holidays but year round.

Curel Itch Defense

Proactive Winter Skincare w/ Curél Itch Defense

We’ve turned the air conditioner off in our home and I am enjoying this time where neither the air nor the heat is needed. Once the temps drop and the heat comes on my dry skin goes into overdrive and to say my skin has it rough is an understatement.

My skin gets so dry in the winter especially on my thighs. I will literally scratch my thighs until little red rashes appear. Unbelievably the Dr. seems to think I just have extremely dry skin and somehow just missed the chart rating for eczema so I often turn to lotions and creams that I can buy at the store to get some relief.

There are a number of things that I can do at home to lessen my flare ups. I’ve used these tips in the past but haven’t been consistent. This year, now that I am being more intentional about things I plan to implement and keep my new regimen of skincare to ensure my skin is well moisturized lessening my chances of discomfort this upcoming winter.

Curel Itch Defense
Here are a few tips to make sure that you keep your skin well moisturized this fall and winter season.

1. Bathe in lukewarm, not hot water. This one will be hard for me, the hotter my water is the better.

2. Use a soap free cleanser like Curél Itch Defense. Soap dries your skin out, this cleanser is soap and fragrance free. Contains Jojoba and Olive oils and with continued use will relieve itchy skin in just 4 days.

3. Consistently using the Curél Itch Defense lotion. This lotion with its advanced ceramide therapy promises to not just relieve the symptoms of dry skin but to over time prevent the symptoms from occurring. Sign me up!

The latter part of the year is definitely my favorite and hopefully I can get my skin under control with the Curél Itch Defense line of products.

I have received Curél products to facilitate this post. All thoughts and opinions are solely my own.

Fab Top Five – Top 5 Drugstore Beauty Finds for Spring

With each season beauty brands give us the best they have to persuade us to purchase the next hottest color or formula for the upcoming season. Reeling off the deep colors from Autumn and Winter the bright pastels and happy colors are welcomed.

As I mentioned in my Milani post last week, I am really looking forward to adding to my beauty arsenal. While I’m not submerged in beauty products around here I do have a few favorites to share. Seeing that I am cheap, I have yet to splurge on some of the bigger items so I stick to my CVS or Walgreens for the majority of my beauty product purchases.
