Top 5 Things We are Sure to See on Instagram Video

I’ll admit I am a little hype about Instagram video but I think I will save posting videos for those moments that are indeed worthy of taking up 15 seconds of someone’s life. However, as with all things what is deemed appropriate or necessary is at the discretion of the individual making use of the little camera icon now visible on the Instagram upload photo/video interface.

A short time after video was introduced my timeline was inundated with some very good and very bad IRL appearances. I agree it was good to be able to put a voice to a face, then for some folks that is where the appeal died. I have come to the conclusion that there will be some types of videos that we will have to live with as our friend Instagram moves from pictures to video.

Here we go:

5. Fashion bloggers will now be taking us into the dressing room with them and we will have to watch them do their favorite poses in real time.

4. Struggling Actors/Actresses, Singers, Comediennes will give us their best in 15 second intervals. If folks are getting discovered on YouTube why not Instagram. Who will be the next Instagram break out star? I will admit I came across this girl who was hilarious. I was crying laughing at about the 9 sec mark.

3. People will further waste more time at the hands of Social Media. There will be some full hair and makeup preparation for a 15 sec shoot, and people will do  a series of clips back to back showing you how to condition your natural hair, draw on your eyebrows, find the perfect lipstick etc…

2. Bloggers will use it to promote their brand, blog, giveaways, new blog posts, their trips to blog conferences, give  you blogging and branding tips, etc. I won’t lie, I’ll probably be doing some of these *lowers head*

1. My blog buddy Lashawn said it best, “…. For some, 15 seconds is too long.”

It’s your turn. What else might we see on Instagram video?!

Hahaha, I’m sure all that and more will show up on Instagram. I’m afraid. Really afraid. I love the quote by LaShawn!

I haven’t had seen ratchet videos from my followers yet. Honestly, the only things I don’t want to see in my feed are videos with violence, nudity and excessive foul language. Anything else I think I can tolerate. At the end of the day, if you’re following a person and you know they have a particular niche it’s a no brainer that they will post vids related to that.

Some people use Instagram for personal stuff while others use to promote and build their brands. And I’m not about to knock anybody’s hustle as long as it’s legit and done well. I’ve had blast getting more intimate looks into the live of some of the other bloggers I follow.

I tend to keep one foot on the ratchet side so there was a slight abundance on my TL. I want to turn away sometimes but it is truly like a train wreck.

I am thinking about twerking it…..
I don’t wanna see 10 videos of a baby, I think my TL is pretty decent although I did see one girl @ another girl on my TL saying her man was at her house…I admit I read through the TL to see what happened hilarious. She has been deleted cause I don’t need it on my TL but it will be fun the many creative ways people use it.

I am SO nervous about this Instagram video thing, because I feel that some folks are just going to take it all the way to the extreme! I do plan to use it to promote my blog/brand more! I am excited about seeing some fashion bloggers use it to their advantage!

I do to! I have started to implement more video on the blog but that will add another dimension. I think it is huge gain for blogger and business but in the hands of the bored and directionless our eyes might be in for some torture!!

Would you believe I haven’t even seen one on my TL? That’s bc I rarely ever scroll it. I pretty much post and bounce. I just can’t keep up. My friends were complaining this weekend about how it was slowing down the network and ppl were posting dumb stuff. IG is trying to stay in the running. Path and other stuff is popping up daily!

At first I thought it would be fun to put a voice to the face…however, now I’m starting to see that it could possibly get annoying in the wrong hands…

Thankfully, nothing crazy in my feed. I notice a lot of young kids like to post pics of their marijuana, I expect they will post videos lighting up. My stupid cousin included. Tragic.

Those are the ones I worry about the most. Kids today have no idea what their actions online are doing to them and they are too stubborn to listen. So glad we didn’t have social media as a distraction coming up.

I’m so vehemently opposed to video on Instagram. It’s the picture snob in me. However, should I click on a vid I only want to see my mini bffs being cute. Otherwise I ain’t got time for grown folks videos.
