Macy’s Celebrates Black History Month & Gordon Parks

With the fond love I have for photography I was ecstatic to be contacted by Everywhere to cover Macy’s photographic art installation of world renowned photographer Gordon Parks. Macy’s is celebrating his legacy throughout the month of February in many of their larger markets with an exhibition of his works, as well as discussions with notable actors and actresses regarding the influence of Gordon Parks on film and the future of African-American cinema.

Relationships

LOVE

Happy Valentines Day!!

Love is so complex, and encompasses so much that I am never really able to put the fullness that it gives me into words. It is like one of those unspoken things, you know it when you have it and *in my Jill Scott voice*…and I know, what I know…and I know what I know…ahhhhhhhh

Loving is a journey, ups and down, turns and twists but the realization is even when you feel like you have a lack of it you have an abundance. Love in all of its mighty forms sculpts and molds us into wonderful or hurt people. Those are our decisions to make because God’s love is always there. It’s that love that enables us to conquer all and keep the course when everyone else is gone. We’re all loved.

Love of God

I honestly pray that no matter your journey you choose to let love prevail. It feels so good and it goes so far!

If you are new here and want to see the Mr. and I’s love story in pictures….Here you go

Love y’all!!!

Wordless Wednesday

{kinda} Wordless Wednesday

Unfortunately this week I won’t be posting my pictures from the previous week to keep up with my 365 challenge. The memory card to my camera went bad and I wasn’t able to get my pictures off. I’ll be back next week with the regularly scheduled program. In the meantime, here is a collage of my little moody fashionista. She is so funny, she turns into this make shift model whenever I ask her to take a picture. I just wanted a simple picture and she gives me this….Who wants to tell her she has on too many accessories

Beauty Nail Polish

Polish Me Pretty Party

My love of nail polish has earned me my own personal nail color in the Atlanta Tastemaker Magazine’s Spring/Summer 2013 nail polish collection. Atlanta Tastemaker teamed up with Coco Rae Cosmetics to create an awesome line of 6 colors inspired by some of Atlanta’s top bloggers. All of the polishes are “4 free” meaning they don’t include any toxins or harmful substances.

My color is appropriately named Glossy Mimi and is a pastel orange hue that will be a definite winner for Spring and Summer tip wear. While the polish is not yet available, an awesome preview party has been scheduled for next week on February 21 at Fab’rik in Buckhead. If you are in Atlanta I would love to see you! Come by, fellowship and get your nails painted. Looking forward to seeing those of you that are in Atlanta.

Polish Me Pretty Party

Please make sure to RSVP here. Space is limited.

See you there.
