Super Bowl Gospel Celebration

With the pending relaunch of Divinitee, I have been doing some research regarding my target audience and events that I should be attending for networking or vendor opportunities. One that came to my attention was the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. Who knew?

This year the Super Bowl will be held in Indianapolis and the concert will kick off the weekend festivities on Friday, February 3, 2012 and will be held at Clowes Memorial Hall on the campus of Butler University. Football players and gospel singers in one place. Who knew?

Some pretty heavy hitters have made appearances in the past…Donovan McNabb, Ray Lewis and Tony Dungy are just a few NFL representatives that have attended the event along side Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Hezekiah Walker.

Tickets are currently on sale through Ticketmaster and the official roster of performers and guests will be released next month. A portion of the concert proceeds go to local and national charities.

I know I have a few readers in that area, and I know back in the day the girls and I used to travel to the Super Bowl without a ticket between us to hang out and kick it. If you are going to be anywhere near during Super Bowl time go get your praise and party on. Wish my funds would allow me to be there.

If you want more information you can follow along on Facebook and on Thursday there will be a Twitter party from 9p – 10p with prizes. Follow on Twitter and use the hashtag #SuperBowlGC to join in the fun.

I don’t know about you but I’ve been struggling with making time for God. Such a priority that I’ve been putting on the back burner for far too long. In the new year this MUST change. I always get so flustered when I feel disconnected and that’s how I’ve been feeling lately. I digress.

Have you ever been to a Gospel Concert? Who did you see?

An Heirloom in the Making?

My mother has been gone a little over 3 years and I am just finding the strength to go through her things. As I was going through some of her old clothing I came across this.

It is in impeccable shape and I thought it would be nice to wear it this winter. I’m a little on the fence as to whether I should wear it or just put it away. If wearing it becomes my final decision I do think it’s a little big but I thought maybe I could have it altered to fit a little better and maybe make it shorter to hit around mid thigh.

Wear it or put it away? If I wear it, is it fine as is or should I have the alterations done?

Weekend

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was busy as usual but no where near as chaotic as last weekend.

Friday evening I went out to the mall to do some Christmas shopping. Sad to say it was a bust. I didn’t finish like I planned to but I am closer than I was. This week for sure.

Saturday morning went to my son’s basketball game. Came home and laid low for the afternoon. Saturday evening I headed out to a Pinterest meet up at West Elm. I had a great time hanging out…as usual.

The event was a meet up of sorts for all Pinterest enthusiasts. If you  follow me on Pinterest then you know I was deserving to be in the number. The crowd was small but awesome. Great company. We had to be ushered out of the event because we were running our mouths! Afterward Kelli, Trina, Kita and myself went out to have some dinner. Great night.

I knew all of the other bloggers and Kelli, but I was stoked to finally meet Tami from Talking with Tami. In case you don’t know who they are from l. to r. Me, Kita, Trina, Nikki, Tami and Kelli.

I’m hooking up with Glamamom for Monday Mingle. I wore:

Purse: Thrifted

Sunday, ventured out to Brandsmart and finally got me a new computer *praise dances* and a back up drive to store all of my photos and other things. Somehow we walked out of there with a new TV for the  bedroom. The one that was in there died a few weeks ago. I was hoping to continue with a tv-less bedroom. No luck.

How was your weekend? Do you have a television in your room?

U Draw…A Glossy Review

A few weeks ago I was sent a U Draw game tablet for Xbox360. We don’t have an X box so I had to find someone with one so I my son could play with it.

For those not familiar the UDraw is a game tablet that allows you to draw on the screen.

It looks like this:

The unit comes with UDraw studio Instant Artist, and we were also sent Pictionary and Super Hero Squad games. Pictionary is just as you remember except its on the screen. My son is such a perfectionist when it comes to art that he didn’t get that it didn’t have to be perfect. Needless to say our team kept losing when it was his turn to draw.

My son LOVED this. I will probably have to purchase an XBOX 360 now for him or check at the Pawn shop. Y’all know how I roll.

The products are manufactured by THQ and are very adult kid friendly. Great for family or adult game nights. I love video games so I was thrilled when we received this.

As you are shopping for holiday gifts this season, this would be great for the children on your list. It is also available for the Wii.

*I was sent a UDraw game tablet and two games for review. You know I don’t endorse anything I don’t like. Go get one for yourself  somebody. Tis the season for giving*
