How I Wear Pink with Kohl’s

As a mother I frequent stores that allow me to purchase things for my children, home, husband and myself all in one place. Kohl’s is one of those establishments that I enjoy shopping at because I can get a little of everything in the same place for a great price.

I am proud to announce that I will be serving as a Kohl’s Fashion Ambassador this Spring. I’m looking forward to showing you a side of Kohl’s that you may not be familiar with.  Recently turning 35 I have to remind myself that I can still be stylish and functional while dressing age appropriate and I found a plethora of options recently at Koh’ls.

For the low.

Pink is on trend for this Spring and you know I am ecstatic for obvious reasons!  I love Pink because it is a color that works well with various skin tones and is just an all around happy color. After the winter we had any hints of pink remind me of Spring. Sign me up!

As a SAHM, as the weather warms up I need to keep my look functional and fashionable. I needed these roll up cuff shorts. While still youthful looking the Jennifer Lopez line offers a better fabric and a longer length than the more youthful counterparts!

This blouse was very nice,  light and conservative in the front, I was very surprised to turn it over and see all of this action in the back! It came home with me!

I had a hard time narrowing down my selections so I pretty much ended up getting everything in my cart. The beauty of purchasing lightweight blouses and good denim is you can easily mix and match as well as dress up or dress down pieces for a ton of wardrobe versatility.

Feel free to add in your pink with accessories if you aren’t comfortable with a lot of color. A wink of pink is better than none at all.

While in Miami I wore my Kohl’s finds and my blouse was light and airy, perfect for a day on the beach. Have you been to Kohl’s lately?

#MamanistaFriday – Red Trench Coat

I wasn’t a fan of red long before I became an AKA #NoShade. Truth be told I’m still not a huge fan, but when I saw this lady in red at my local Goodwill for a whopping $1 I had to have her.

Red Trench coat

I love a good trench coat, I’m not really sure if this qualifies as a true trench  as the material  slightly throws it into the raincoat category. Perfect for Spring.

It’s raining today and I have a few errands to run and I am taking the kids to LEGOLand  so fashion and function it is.

Happy Friday!!

Abby & Co. – Atlanta’s New Mom and Baby Boutique

One of the undeniable truths about being a mother is you never find it okay the time to indulge yourself. The word indulge is not to be confused with something lavish and expensive but instead points to purchasing something as simple as a pretty journal or relaxing candle for yourself.

Abby & Co

Taking “mommy guilt” out of the picture sometimes the last thing you want to do is drag a sleepy, crying toddler into an establishment so you can browse and pick up a few things for yourself.

About a week ago I had the pleasure of previewing Atlantic Stations’s newest boutique Abby & Co. and this store set the right environment for Mamas to pick up something for baby and themselves.

Abby & Co

Full of awesome….I say.

Abby & Co.

From baby shower gifts to stationary to those hard to find baby items they have a little bit of everything. A one stop shop.

I had the opportunity to chat with the wife half of the husband and wife duo that owns the store and she stated that their vision was to create a space where Mom could grab something for herself in the midst of  purchasing something for her child or a gift for a friend.

The entire store was just full of win. I didn’t know where to look first. Totally one of those places where you are mindlessly picking up things and get to the register to realize you’ve amassed quite the tab.

Believe it or not I left with only things for myself and none for the baby. I think I supported Abby & Co.’s vision!

If you are in Atlanta please be sure to visit the store. It is in Atlantic station near DSW. Please find Abby & Co. on the Web, Twitter and Instagram.

Are you still on the Mommy guilt train and need a little coercing to pick up a few things for yourself? Why?!

#MamanistaFriday

This week Trina and Aracely started a new theme segment on Mamanista Friday. This week the theme was prints/patterns.

I know some people like to stay away from mixing prints but I am a huge fan. I don’t do it often but I try to do a little something when I can. One of the keys to making this trend work is to make sure the prints are in the same color family.

One day this week while out running errands I wore this:

Sweater: Thrifted Blouse:Thrifted Jeans: Thrifted Rainboots: Target Necklace: Target Cuff: Tory Burch

I tell you this weather really has me home bound. I thought I would spice things up by moving from my dining room to the kitchen this time. Change is good. Can’t wait to be able to go outside.

Are you a fan of mixed prints? Have you dared tried the trend? Are you ready for Spring?!
