Weekend Wrap Up

Thanksgiving went well. As the weekend rolled around we just laid around and enjoyed each others company. Friday evening we headed out to visit my bestie. They had a cookout as a wrap up for their family that was leaving to head out of town after Thanksgiving. We swung by had some eats and chatted it up.

Saturday, laid around some more, cleaned, nothing exciting. Headed out to have dinner with my good friend Kelli who is also doubling as my PR person for the Divinitee relaunch. I normally wouldn’t do business with friends but Kelli gets it and she gets me. We go way back. Our lives are so similar its eerie. She has been here since the very beginning and since I have decided to go all out this time she understands my passion and urgency. She recently launched her own PR firm..Kelli Flournoy PR..yes, that was a not so shameless plug feel free to make what you wish of that.

I digress. We ate at Via. The food was good and set the mood for boring but necessary things such as business strategy and photo shoot visions. I am so excited!

Sunday, I headed out to Dollar Tree and Michaels to scrape up some material to finish off some Christmas decorations. I may or may not blog the final results depending on how it turns out. Please…I’m new to crafting and I’m sensitive about my ish.

I’m hooking up with Mom Trends for Monday Mingle. I wore:

Friday:

Saturday:

How was your weekend. Did you get any shopping done. Are you tired of leftovers yet?

Can I Be a Hypocrite?

I just finished catching up on my Google Reader and I have noticed that I comment on a ton of blogs that don’t follow me, or have never even stopped by to comment..not.once.

Quiana over at Harlem Lovebirds did a post here…that got me thinking about folks who read and never comment.

So I’m a hypocrite. I get in these moods, I’m in one now and since I have to blog everyday you get to witness it first hand. Yes, I have blogged and Twitter ranted about not caring about if people follow me or comment and/or either but TODAY I’m peeved.

See, if you’ve been around the blog block you know there are circles and you will see people on the regular. So, if I see you commenting on other people’s blogs then I know you’ve seen me on your blog but you don’t even stop by…To defend my hypocrisy I follow a ton of blogs and never comment but if they stop by HERE I’m going to find my way over there every now and then to comment. Quietly I read everyone’s blog who follows me…not everyday but when I do, I may read 10 posts at a time. If I’m not at least following you let me know. I don’t comment like I should that would be the hypocrisy busy’ness that is my life…but still. Y’all get where I’m headed? Maybe the food has me delusional. Maybe my content isn’t their cup of tea, but when we blog about the same thing. Oh?

Maybe they just don’t like me. I care today, but I assure you I won’t care tomorrow.

Do you get in your blog feelings this way from time to time…You know women are emotional creatures. Do share and if you’ve been lurking now is the time to show your face. I’m vulnerable and need virtual hugs!

*Believes the Hype*

Hi!

Hope your Thanksgiving went well. For the very first time I cooked all of the food except for the turkey. Our spread included turkey, macaroni and cheese, dressing, collard greens, sweet potato souffle, potato salad, cranberry sauce, rolls and apple pie.

I am very proud of myself. The food tasted really good. I know I can do it now. Big shout out to Kita over at Saywhatuwanna for the sweet potato recipe.

We ate around 3 and layed around. Around 7 my son dragged us outside to put up the outdoor Christmas lights. We looking like the Griswold’s over here. Things just randomly placed but its what he wants…Tis the season

I told myself that I wouldn’t get suckered into the Black Friday foolery but low and behold as I type this I am fully dressed and will head out the door shortly after I hit publish. I live not far from an outlet and every year they do a midnight madness and the deals are like no other. I came across a coupon I had for Carter’s and the store is 60% plus I can use the 20% coupon so we’ll just say every child will have something from Carters. There is also a Children’s Place, Gap, Old Navy, Aeropostale and a few other good stores that literally give away clothes during the wee hours so out I head.

If I get some really good stuff I’ll do a vlog tomorrow with my findings.

I sincerely hope you and yours had an awesome day and are looking forward to the hustle and bustle of the next 4 weeks. Happy Thanksgiving!!
