I mentioned earlier in the week that Saturday I had to opportunity to go to Macy’s and see a cooking demonstration by Top Chef Masters winner Marcus Samuelsson.
In the past I haven’t been much of a cook but the past couple of months my interest has definitely been peaked and I have been trying my hand at quite a few recipes and I am actually finding myself liking to cook. Marcus has a book out called “Yes, Chef” that he was also signing. I was super excited to see what he would be cooking and doubly excited to eat some of it…for free.
Let me say, his personality was amazing. He was very down to earth and truly in touch. You didn’t feel like you were looking at a celebrity chef that has cooked for President Obama. It felt more like you were in his personal kitchen and he was cooking you a meal as a friend. He graciously answered questions and took photos with his guests. He was amazing.
On to the food.
He made the most amazing Crab Cakes with a Chipotle Mayo. There was just enough kick to the Mayo to really set off the crab cake. It was delicious. Here’s the recipe. He did mention that this is about $26 a plate in his restaurant!! Eat up!
I am a member of the Everywhere Society and Everywhere provided me with compensation for this post about Macy’s Culinary Council. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own. You already know!!
