LeapReader Ready, Set, Read & Write

A few weeks ago I had the honor of hosting a few  moms and their children at my home to show them the awesomeness that is the new LeapReader Reading and Writing System.

In the past you may have known the system as Tag and I am happy to let you know that many Tag books are compatible with LeapReader and many LeapReader books are also compatible with Tag. If you would like to look and see which titles are compatible please visit this link for more information.

What is really neat about the new LeapReader system is that it not only encourages and aids in reading but also offers three essential experiences to include:

• Learning to Read: Sounds out words, reads sentences and lets kids play games and puzzles

• Learn to Write: LeapReader gives children interactive guidance as they practice writing letters and numbers on special mess free writing paper.

• Learn through Listening: Audio books, learning songs and trivia challenges build comprehension skills and vocabulary.

I was thoroughly pleased with the entire system. The age range for the system is suggested as 4-8 years however, I would say assess the abilities of your child and use that as a basis of whether or not the system will be beneficial for you. As Addison is starting to learn to write letters I found the special writing paper to be exceptional. The pen provides audio to walk the child through the proper steps to write each letter and they can see it show up on the special paper as it writes. Now worries the writing only shows on the special paper, no need to worry about the walls!

At the party I made sure each child took a turn playing with all of the items and they were all thoroughly entertained. The Monsters University book was the biggest hit. It came complete with 3D glasses and some of the pages of the book included thinking games to encourage listening and comprehension.

With Christmas on the horizon I gladly recommend you consider picking up this system to help preschool and school aged children grasp these pertinent skills through this fun medium of learning.
