Hey!
A few week ago a few of my fellow Atlanta based bloggers and I partnered with Motions and Walmart to host an in store event at the Old National Highway location.
We had a great time speaking with patrons about Motions Heat Style products that are designed to assist natural girls in going from curly to straight and back to curly with minimal heat damage.
I sit to post this at 11:45p barely scraping by to meet my blog daily goal for the month of November.
Let me apologize in advance for the randomness you are likely to see in the coming weeks. I am determined to get through this NaBloPoMo so at times you will just get the real and raw of my life. Some of you like that cause you are nosy. That’s fine I am too!! After all why do we read blogs.
Anywho.
I just got home from my very first event as an AKA and it was AH-MAZING!! I am so used to being there as an interest. I thoroughly enjoyed myself with my new Sorors and Line Sisters. Cheers to an amazing Saturday night.
Now let me go pour someone some juice and listen to what they did while I was gone….at 11:48p.
One of the reasons why we had to look at this house twice before I agreed to sign my name on the dotted line is there was a ton of deferred maintenance that needed to be done. You know how the saying goes, ” You can’t see the forest for the trees?” Well I felt like I couldn’t see the house for the same reason. My initial impression of the house was the front yard landscape was going to take a ton of money so my mind kind of shut off at that point.
I know, I know it has been a long time since I’ve been over here but I had good reason!

On Sunday I was initiated into the The First and Finest Sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Here it is Tuesday and I am still very much beaming at this accomplishment. Thirteen years years ago I made up in my mind that I wanted to be an AKA for a ton of reasons that I won’t go into. Life got in the way and the fact that I wasn’t able to seek membership during my college years didn’t derail my dream. About 5 years ago I started this journey and it ended on Sunday when 14 of us, known as the Dream Pearls were initiated into the Psi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Maaaaaaaaaan, I can’t tell you how good this feels, cause truly many are called but few are chosen! Here are a few photos. They aren’t the best but they captured this once in a lifetime moment just fine.
