So I’ve been really focused on getting my son’s room done. I bit the bullet and went in there and got the painting done. First, I had to do so much sanding it wasn’t even funny. I mean it low key looked like a dust storm in there while I struggled and gave it all of my puny muscle strength to make sure the walls were really smooth. One might’ve though the prior owners were using the wall as a dart board there were so many holes, and dents. Here is a true peek at the before of this boys room makeover.
Glad I chose to go with low VOC Behr paint because I didn’t feel bad about letting the children get in on a little painting fun. They didn’t have time to get in the way, after 20 minutes they were ghost….
…leaving me to finish up the 2nd coat by myself
Then like clockwork, after all of the hard work had been done here he comes wanting to brush up the trim and baseboards. The gray is Behr Dolphin Fin and the blue is Behr Star Spangled. I really love how the colors came together.
I have about 3 DIY projects going on right now. Here’s a sneak peek at the start of my daughter’s closet makeover. Look for the reveal early next week!
How was your weekend? Any home improvement projects happening?

July 13, 2015 at 11:16 amYou are making so much progress. I love the gold hangers for your daughter’s room. We have been decluttering and re-organizing our house from top to bottom. I am loving the results so far. Everything feels lighter, cleaner and my life seems a lot easier. I still need to find a bookshelf/book storage solution for the kid’s books. I also want to spruce up our old serving trays I found while we were cleaning this weekend.

July 14, 2015 at 10:25 amThe hangers are super easy. Just spray paint them but make sure to get the spray paint with the primer. I also sealed them with a clear coat.

July 13, 2015 at 9:12 pmI like the colors you are using. I’m sure your son’s room will look great once you are finished with it.
We had to install a new garbage disposal last week and we also had to deal with a clog in the sink. My husband and I aren’t very good at DIY projects, but thankfully we have my mom to help us out.

July 20, 2015 at 11:55 amI love all the work you are doing in your children’s rooms! I can’t wait to see how you do with some of the projects on the pin board you and your son agreed on.
