Yesterday was open house for 3rd grade. I may or may not have been stalking the clock patiently but not really waiting for 5:00 so we could head to the school house for my son’s new classroom assignment. I decided to throw on my Caftan, simply because I love it and it didn’t need to be ironed.
My husband’s best friend and his family are paying us a visit for a few days. Yesterday we thought it a good idea to take the children to Stone Mountain Park. I had only been to Stone Mountain a few times and it was for the laser show that plays nightly during the summer. Yesterday we went and took in the entire experience.
I knew there would be a lot of walking so I opted to wear tennis shoes instead of flip flops and I’m glad I did. Up until a few weeks ago I didn’t own a pair of tennis shoes other than my running shoes and they are far from cute. JD Sports was so kind to send me a pair of Air Max to review and I love them.

My husband’s birthday was yesterday and we spent it doing what the children wanted to do. They truly believed he wanted to bowl on his birthday.
I kept it what I like to call “chic casual”. My tummy and love handles need a bit of… we’ll say attention, so I don’t care to just throw them out there with a fitted tee without a little camouflaging.

I’ve been spending the majority of my days in jeans and tank tops. Nothing glamorous to see here.
Yesterday I photographed a friend of mine that will be welcoming her first child in August. This was the first time I made it out of the house with a purpose this week so I stole the opportunity as a chance to put some clothes on..not in the literal sense of course.
I promise, there is nothing like a good tunic. Quick, easy and stylish.
This particular tunic has a story. I purchased it at an off season sale in 2009. When I got it home and hung it up, it dawned on me that it was pink and green and rekindled my desire to become an AKA.
I put it in my closet and let it hang there for 4 years. I never wore it. I used it as motivation, when I wanted to give up. Almost 5 years later, it sure feels good to put it on as an AKA.
I’ve been rocking and rolling with these white flower flip flops from Kohl’s. I probably wear them everyday!!
