Totally U Vintage $25 Giveaway

You guys know I’m all about supporting women/mom owned businesses. I’m all late with this. I thought I scheduled this post…but. Anywho

My very good friend Crystal is one half of the sister duo that blogs over at Brown Girls Fly and is also the owner of an online vintage clothing store named Totally U Vintage.

I’m super excited to announce that she will be in town this Thursday and is collaborating with some other ladies to host a trunk show at the M Bar and Fuse Lounge. I’m giving away a $25 gift certificate toward any purchase made with Totally U Vintage.

Want it? You only need to like Totally U Vintage on FB and for a bonus entry like Lipgloss and Binky on FB.

Baby Shopaholic and Neiman Marcus

The week before last I attended an event hosted by my bloggy BFF Trina that was held at Neiman Marcus.

Y’all know I love socializing with the Atlanta blogger scene so this was right up my alley. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to stay as long as I would’ve liked because I had another event to attend but I was there long enough to get the scoop on this season’s trends and we were even let in on a hot off the press secret that green is going to be the color of the fall, all shades of it. Don’t say I never told you anything.

If you want to be on trend this season, Dave Ferguson, style advisor for Neiman Marcus suggests the following:

Wear arm candy….lots and lots and lots of it. He said you may want to do some arm curls. That’s how much of it you need to be wearing

Big bold earrings are the move

Bright, bold colors. Read neon. Get.you.some.

Wedges are here to stay at least through the fall and pointy toes have the nerve to be coming back after I just threw away a neon pink Charles David pair I had from years ago…but they look down at people for being hoarders *weeps silently*

PRINTS…be bold people. Get you some prints..and be daring and mix them up.

Colored denim will make it at least another season. Goodwill has tons of it. I know, I got some from there. No excuses.

Here are a few photos from the event…Wish I could’ve stayed longer.

I wore: Jumpsuit: H&M Necklace: Thrifted Purse: Thrifted Arm Candy: Thrifted

What trend can you not get enough of or would like to try?

Fashion Guest Post

I Really Love My….Leopard Print!!

Hi Ladies!! My name is Eboni, and I’m coming to y’all from my blog, The Fashionista Next Door.  I am so honored to be guest posting while Mimi is away…and I thought it would be fun to talk about one of my FAVORITE things – LEOPARD PRINT!  Lol! My readers already know I consider leopard print to be a neutral.  And to prove it, I thought I’d share a variety of looks from my blog’s archives to demonstrate my point.  Hopefully, if you don’t have a closet full of leopard print accessories already, you’ll consider adding a few after you read this post…I promise, they’ll change your life.  (okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration. Hehe!)

The Leopard Print Scarf

A leopard print scarf is sure to punch up any look…especially those comprised of casual fabrics, basic silhouettes, or subdued color palettes.  And of course, leopard always look stunning paired back to solid bright colors as well…and for the daring among us, try a little print mixing by pairing a leopard scarf with polka dots or stripes.

The Leopard Belt

If you only have ONE leopard print item in your entire wardrobe, I’d say get a belt (although I think it is actually a three way tie with a leopard shoe and a leopard bag…depends on how often you wear belts, I guess…plus a skinnier belt make a smaller statement than the other two if you’re not as big on the print).  The thing about a leopard print belt is it goes with all your shoes…I don’t necessarily have belts to match every color shoe in my closet, so when all else fails, usually my leopard belt does the trick!  Remember, leopard is a neutral.

The Leopard Shoe

I treat my leopard shoes pretty much the same way I treat my leopard belt…when all else fails, I just throw them on…I think a major difference between how I utilize my leopard print shoes vs. the belt, is I often wear my leopard print shoes with other prints…especially if the print is on my upper body.  (that is also a great tip for mixing prints…if the two prints are far away from each, it’s easier to pull o

 The Leopard Bag

A leopard bag is another go-to for me when I don’t have a bag that matches my shoes.  I actually have three leopard clutches, and I am in the market for a good leopard print shoulder bag.  Unfortunately, all my favorites are way outside of my price range. Grr.

So, are you convinced yet? Is there anyone out there that is obsessed with leopard print like me?

XOXO,

Eboni Ifé

Spiraling and Cake Pops

Hey!!

I know. I’ve been off the grid a bit. Things are a little crazy, I leave for Miami soon and just trying to get a house prepared with children and a husband for a mother to be gone for a week is a task.

Lil Mama will be spending the week with her godmother so packing her  and myself up, along with the fact that I had two photo shoots last week,  three major events this week, and trying to put the final design touches on Divinitee’s summer line has made for one frazzled mama. In the words of June Ambrose, I’m slightly “spiraling” these folks better stay out of my way!!

Enough ranting…time to rave but not like that

Tuesday my very good friend Niya who is the owner and master bakestress over at Candy Cake Company did a press showing for her new cake pop flavors. So you know I am all about support and slid my way over to show my love

and eat tons of cake pops. So?

Her new flavors include Pistachio, Lavender Vanilla, Cookies and Cream, and Orange Chiffon…and they are delectable.

If you are in need of cake pops or would just like to try them please reach out to her via the web. If you are in the Atlanta area she does deliver. If you are outside of Atlanta shipping is an option.

I wore:

Shirt: Thrifted Jeans: Thrifted Arm Candy: Thrifted Shoes: Sole Society Purse: Thrifted!!! (it was the one I blogged about that I thought was gone)

How are you, and what has you spiraling? I haven’t been around to your blogs but I promise I’ll make my rounds. Thank you for reading!
