What I Wore

So I’ve been pretty lame lately. I haven’t been going anywhere and doing much so I’ve been in my comfy uniform for way too long. Read that comfy uniform as tank top and sweat pants or something of the like. I feel myself getting in a rut and I am on my way out. It happens to the best of us!

Last week I had to run a few errands so I forced myself to get properly dressed! I wore:

Sears Style: How to Style Junior Jeans for Adult Women

CB-sponsored-post-black-script-600

The idea of grown women shopping in the Juniors section of any department store sort of makes me cringe. Why you ask? If it was okay for women to wear teenagers clothing then there wouldn’t be a delineation of clothing type in my opinion. I have been know to be a hypocrite when it comes to certain things and today I proved myself wrong when it came to me, a grown women crossing over and shopping in the Juniors section of Sears.

I’m a skinny jean girl. I love skinny jeans, I like the ankles as narrow as they come and I would prefer them to be dark washed. I like what I like, and if it isn’t broke then don’t fix it. Well I was challenged to go into Sears and take a look at their current denim offerings and pick something out of my norm.

So I did some looking and searching and unfortunately in the adult section I didn’t find anything in the fit I wanted that particularly tickled my fancy. After walking around in circles I knew it was time to cross over the linoleum aisle and step foot into the land of Juniors *insert horror movie scream*

Surprisingly not only did I find some out of the box denim but the pricing was great. As I perused the aisles I wanted something a little different that I could possibly tone down and make appropriate for a grown woman to wear. After a couple of trips to the dressing room because I kept forgetting that Junior sizes don’t account for adult hips I finally decided to take home a Bongo pair of jeans with some distressing, rips, and contrast stitching. What drew my eye to them was the contrast in the stitch, second to the rips. After trying them on I was smitten with the length and how they kind of scrunched around my ankles.

When purchasing I made sure to get credit to my Shop Your Way account, which gives me credit for qualifying purchases. While I had credit available that I could’ve applied to my purchase I decided not to use them at this time.

Style Me Friday- Short Suit

I’ve been in a blah mood lately, and since nothing cheers me up like dressing up I am jumping back in and linking up with Eboni over at Fashionista Next Door for her Style Me Friday feature.

This week it was all about the short suit. Whether you bought it together or you put it together, shorts and blazers are all the rage this season. Dressed up or dressed down this combo just works. Oh and let me tell you about the shorts with the sailor design…does wonders to hide the pooch. Thank me later

I tried to keep with the inspiration photo by going with a print and solid, I just inverted them. I also did a little print mixing as my tank top is striped.
