Weekend Wrap Up

Hey!

Was busy last week trying to put the finishing touches on Divinitee before its launch sometime this week. Did you miss me? Don’t answer that!

First let me say I am so saddened by the death of Whitney Houston that right now that is all I will say. She evokes so many memories of my childhood particularly my mother that I need to keep the words to a minimum. I fall into these periodic days of grief and right now I can’t. Sooo….

How was your weekend?

Nothing spectacular over here. Laid low, my son had his final basketball game and banquet. We grocery shopped, I went thrifting and bough $15 worth of nail polish from Walgreens who happens to have Sinful colors on sale for $.99. Thank me later for the heads up.

Last Thursday Trina over at Baby Shopaholic took me as her +1 to the Romare Bearden Black History month event at Macy’s and we followed up with dinner at Nancy’s Pizzeria in Buckhead. Let me say the food at Nancy’s was delicious. If you are in the Atlanta area, I highly suggest you swing by there. You won’t regret it.

Here are a few photos taken at the event.

What’s good?

I kicked off the weekend festivities with my good friend Niya. We celebrated her birthday at Benihana and then headed over to a cafe for some karaoke fun. I sang, En Vogue, and a few other tunes. I did the wobble. Like seriously. I love to do the Wobble. Love.

Saturday morning, headed out to my son’s basketball game and right afterward we headed south to Tallahassee, FL. My stepdaughter had a birthday party and my family to include my two nieces headed down for some birthday fun.

It was a turn around trip. We left here at 11 right after my son’s basketball game, got to Fl around 2:30 and we were back here at 11a Sunday morning.

Took a nap then headed out to the grocery store, because when I say our cupboards were bare…they were BARE. BEAR. and BAYER.

Busy week ahead. Photos are to be back by the end of the week and we are currently working on a press opportunity for Divinitee so I am way excited about that. Deets to come.

All of my new readers, commenters and followers, I see you. I’ll be making my rounds. Welcome, thank you for stopping by here. I appreciate ya!

I didn’t take many photos this weekend, just soaked in time with the family but squeezed in an outfit pic for the Monday Mingle link up which is hosted this week by Mom Trends

I’m baaaaaacccckkkkkkk!!!!

I seriously just needed to take some time and slow down and organize things in my head and get them on paper. It worked!

The shoot went great. I still don’t have any of the photos back but when I do you know you will see them. Here is a behind the scenes shot I caught with my camera phone. Yes it was real official!!
Hair and makeup

My dad is fine. All of the major tests for stroke, diabetes and other things of the sort have been run and the results yielded nothing. Thank you for all of your kind words. I truly appreciate them.

My son..we still don’t know. I am thinking of home schooling but I know my limitations and at this time I’m just not sure if I can successfully do that.

So my weekend was low key. Hung out with the family and I did a little bit of shopping down at Tanger outlet in Locust Grove, which is not far from my house. I went with the intention to buy shoes and clothes for Lil Mama and ended up getting a few things for myself as well from Old Navy. They had 50% off clearance. Ummm yes! Paid $16 for a dress, skirt and three bottles of nail polish..as if I need anymore polish. I’ll do a vlog haul at the end of the week.

I’m linking up with Glamamom for Monday Mingle. I wore:

Yahhhhh!!!!!

Sunday. We laid low. I actually made some biscuits from scratch for breakfast. Yes.Me.

Mr. cooked dinner with his broke foot. I didn’t object, just put my feet up and did some blogging and tweeting. Weekend gets an A.

How was your weekend? Anything exciting in your world? Do share.

Yeah, its Thursday. So?

So last weekend was action packed as usual. The awesome hostesses Lexi and Danielle who were also behind the blogger Pre Nye Bash invited some area bloggers to a private party at TJ Maxx. We well they participated in a fashion challenge and the winners for the best outfit won giftcards. ( I was late, otherwise…)

Despite my being tardy to the party I was given this…

Saturday, Pinterest finally coerced me into trying one of its many projects. One of my besties came over and helped me make a tufted headboard for my bed…I’ll post about that later…FYI lots of *&^*^% was involved but I am proud considering I am not crafty at all. I’ll post the tutorial and pics on Saturday.

By the way Lexi and Danielle are both separately hosting a $150 GC giveaway for TJ Maxx/Marshalls. You have two chances to win , head over to get your name in the running.

Are you a Maxxinista? What’s the best deal you’ve come across in a TJ Maxx/Marshalls?
