Weekend Wrap Up

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

I hope you and your family have a great new year. I am glad the new year is here and I am ready to hit the ground running.

This weekend was rather low key considering it was New Years.

With the start of the new year I felt it necessary to get a new look…This is only a small portion of what hit the floor.

After that was said and done, I started off the weekend by attending the Pre New Years Eve Bash hosted by Lexi and Danielle of Curls, Coils and Kinks and The Style and Beauty Doctor respectfully. The event was held at Sole Boutique here in Atlanta at Atlantic Station. Cute space. They even offered a 30% off deal but there were too many people there and I have to focus when I make purchases. I’ll definitely be back though.

Trina and I shut it down and then headed over to California Pizza Kitchen for some dinner.

Saturday morning, I headed out to drop some shirts off to a lady who will be adding Swarvoski crystals to a shirt design. Headed back home for a day of cleaning and grocery shopping. As evening fell I decided the kids and I would head out to church, and the Mr. went to see some friends who were in town. Sad for us, when we got to church no one was there. Our church has two campuses and evidently I missed the memo. So we headed back home and I counted down and kissed my babies for the new year.

Sunday, we took my stepdaughter home. I came home and whipped up the obligatory collard greens along with some chicken and potato salad for dinner. I must say it was good. I’m going to be domestic yet.

How was your New Years? Were you a party animal, church goer or homebody? I wanna know!!

Pinterest Weekend

In the New Year {Home Edition}

No Weekend Wrap Up this week. Nothing spectacular. The Mr. and I went out on a double duty date night on Friday. A good friend of mine was celebrating her birthday so we joined her and her husband and some friends for drinks and a night out on the town. Had my camera, took no photos. Sorry.

Saturday went grocery shopping and slept. Sunday drove to pick up my stepdaughter and slept and watched Real Housewives of Atlanta. While I was going about my business this weekend my mind was constantly thinking about the changes that I would like to see once the new year starts.

I am not one to jump on the whole New Years Resolution bandwagon but I have a few changes planned to commence once the apple drops.

Although approved, for financial reasons we have decided to stay in our current home for at least another year. With that epiphany I have decided our home is due for a makeover. I am currently in the throes of selecting a wall color for our master bedroom. The contenders are..

I would also like to display photos in our home. I love shelving so I would like to use them as medium through which to display photos of our family and friends. Looooove these ideas.

Seing that I have a ton of things going on. I am only focusing on a few things at a time. These will be the first two things that we tackle. I would like to see the room painted before the new year. We’ll see.

Do you have any home improvement plans scheduled for the new year? I may or may not have been reading way too many home design and crafting blogs…Give me some of your favorites. By February this house will be on point!

How was your weekend?

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was busy as usual but no where near as chaotic as last weekend.

Friday evening I went out to the mall to do some Christmas shopping. Sad to say it was a bust. I didn’t finish like I planned to but I am closer than I was. This week for sure.

Saturday morning went to my son’s basketball game. Came home and laid low for the afternoon. Saturday evening I headed out to a Pinterest meet up at West Elm. I had a great time hanging out…as usual.

The event was a meet up of sorts for all Pinterest enthusiasts. If you  follow me on Pinterest then you know I was deserving to be in the number. The crowd was small but awesome. Great company. We had to be ushered out of the event because we were running our mouths! Afterward Kelli, Trina, Kita and myself went out to have some dinner. Great night.

I knew all of the other bloggers and Kelli, but I was stoked to finally meet Tami from Talking with Tami. In case you don’t know who they are from l. to r. Me, Kita, Trina, Nikki, Tami and Kelli.

I’m hooking up with Glamamom for Monday Mingle. I wore:

Sunday, ventured out to Brandsmart and finally got me a new computer *praise dances* and a back up drive to store all of my photos and other things. Somehow we walked out of there with a new TV for the  bedroom. The one that was in there died a few weeks ago. I was hoping to continue with a tv-less bedroom. No luck.

How was your weekend? Do you have a television in your room?

Food was great. Can't you tell

My son had his first basketball game so we got up early to head out to the gym. If you follow me on Twitter you may have caught my tweet that I feel bad for him because this is his first year playing and you can surely tell his lack of skills compared to those who played last year.. He is trying really hard and that’s all I want him to do.

Getting a pep talk from dad.

Got home from the game, checked the Twitter and saw a tweet from one of my favorite fashion bloggers Eboni over at Fashionista Next Door that she was at the outlet not far from my house. Seeing I needed to get some Christmas shopping done, I tweeted back that I would meet her down there. I got a bonus, because she was shopping with another one of of my fashion blog reads Prissy, over at Rush Our Fashion. We hung out for a bit and shopped.

I had to head home to meet my husband so we could head down to the Botanical Gardens to meet two of our favorite families for Garden of Lights. We all had scooped up a Groupon a few weeks ago to take the children to see the lights. The children had a great time. It was a bit chilly but not unbearable. The children had a ball. That’s all that matters.

Awww..look at the dads! They rock!

We left there and headed out to Flip for some dinner. This place has the best food..not to mention a Krispy Kreme milkshake. I know this picture is blurry but I just love what a great dad he is.

My husband is all kinds of awesome #thatisall

Sunday I cooked some beef stew in the crockpot and laid around. I got a call from a friend of mine named Niki. She lives in New York and is a hair stylist to the stars. I never get to see her because she is bi coastal so whenever her work leads her here I stop what I’m doing to see her. She was here working with Brandy for a taping of The Game. I didn’t know Brandy was going to be a new addition to the Game *shrugs* She was doing hair so no photo ops.

How was your weekend? Did you see an old friend, or eat out, or have a drink, or go shopping? Was it low key, and relaxing? I’m nosy. I want to know.
