Recent warm, pollen-free evenings have afforded me the ability to sit out on my screened porch and quietly unwind from busy days. When I say quietly, I really mean with my kids staring at me through the glass door, periodically opening it asking to come out. After 8pm it is not a family-friendly place, no kids are allowed.
Outside of spending quiet evenings on the patio my goal is to use the space to entertain friends and family. Entertaining is half about the people and the other half is about creating a pretty space and comfortable ambiance that encourages people to put their feet up, let their hair down and have a great time.
Recently I had a few family members over for light fare and fellowship. A visit to Pier 1 for some additional accessories really punched up the color quotient. With Summer near I thought bright colors and vibrant designs were just what were needed to bring fun to the space.
We noshed on salad and other light eats and had a few drinks. I love clear pitchers and drinking glasses . They are so classic, and glass just screams summer to me, so I worked them in with some colorful plates, napkins and salad tongs to bring in a punch of Summer color.
Create a pretty, inviting and entertaining space no matter the size with accessories and dinnerware from Pier 1. With their superb quality and selection, I am looking forward to building a classic collection of dinnerware that is good for entertaining indoors and outdoors.

May 24, 2016 at 9:34 amI agree, although I love color in other people’s homes I gravitate to clear and white classic servingware in my own. I love to experiment with color as an accent in my cloth napkins and place mats. I love the pops of color the utensils and small plates provided in your tablescape so I may have to experiment with that more in the future.

May 24, 2016 at 1:09 pmI love your furniture and color quotient. My patio looks a mess right now. We definitely need to step things up a bit. But first, the privacy fence needs attention.
