How was your weekend?
I’m starting to realize a new pattern in my life and I like it. The vibe has been real chill, relaxed and just easy. I pray it stays that way and pretty much the three aforementioned words summed up our weekend. It could be that with moving and all of the unknown that tormented me for the end of last year and practically half of this year I had thrown myself into a tizzy and forgot what normal was. I won’t speculate, I’ll just live in the moment.
This weekend was no different. Friday, my niece came and spent the evening with us. We had pizza and settled in downstairs to watch a movie.
Saturday, we had a noon call time at the football field. I will say I started off the day with a little bit of a poor attitude. My husband has a tendency to run about his business and leave the little messy pieces for me to pick up. Like oh, filling water bottles for his team, stopping to get Gatorade, grabbing an extra pair of football pants. You know the things that require stops along the way and lugging things and keeping up with a three year old at the same time. Yeah.
By the time I made it to the field I was hot and bothered but I got it together. Let’s say the team mom and I are slightly bumping heads…that’s another story for another day.
So we lost. 19 to 0. My husband was mad….Men and football. I tell ya! I thought I was the only one hearing all about the loss when I called my bestie, whose husband also happens to coach a team that lost and she was getting the same ear full. There is comfort in knowing you are not alone on certain things!
I had to remind him that plenty of those babies had never set foot on a football field and there is only so much a scrimmage can do to prepare them. Those little jokers had heart. They made the other team work for those touchdowns I will say that.
After getting home Saturday, I took out the time to meal plan for the week and craft up a grocery list and then carried myself to the grocery store. As I am trying to get more organized the idea is I would like to get everything out of the way on Saturdays so that Sundays I don’t have to leave the house unless I absolutely have to.
Sunday, I braided someone’s hair and that took up the majority of the day. I might be that ghetto hair braider that stops and talks on the phone, and fixes their kids dinner. Oh well!! I got it done…in 2 days!
How was your weekend? Anybody hit the football field?
