Lil Mama Weekend

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was another that was extra low key.

I mentioned the Atlanta Classic being here this weekend, and to be honest I partook in none of the activities. Not a one. I don’t even know who won the game.

Saturday I had to take Addison to get her “snitches” taken out. My Godmother and Godbrother tagged along while the Mr. and my son was out and about working on his classic car. I couldn’t watch, but everything went off without a hitch. She has a tiny little scar but he said put some vitamin E on it and it should fade in a few months.

We came home and took a little snooze and then I headed out for a late night run to Walmart where I ended up putting all of the children’s Christmas things on layaway. Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!! I’m done except for some books, a few clothing items a Dreamlite and some Stompeez. DONE.

Sunday, I felt like eating good so I whipped up a nice dinner while we scrambled to deep clean the house. For sale sign should be in the yard in a few days. Praying.

How was your weekend? Does Vitamin E really make scars go away or should I get some Mederma? What do you suggest?

Oh..and Southern won the football game. Congratulations to my two Southern University readers ;-/

Sunday Sweets – Cheddar Crusted Apple Pie

If you’ve been around these parts long enough you know that I am not a true natural when it comes to the kitchen. I can whip up a few things here and there but it takes time and the outcome and taste are often up in the air.

In a past post, I wrote about trying to create memories for my children like my mother did for me regarding cooking and the like. I want them to be proud to say their mother could rock a pair of skinny jeans and stilettos and bake a mean cake.

Without practice we never get better so I’ve decided to attempt to try my hand at baking something new every Sunday and share it with you, since I love to bake and I would like to get better at it. I’ll never get better at it if I don’t try. Right?

First up…Martha Stewart’s Cheddar Crusted Apple Pie. Not sure why I would start this challenge with a Martha Stewart recipe but…..

You can find the recipe here

I started off making the dough for the crust from scratch. You know it is never smooth sailing with me. I had to pulse the flour, cheese, salt, and butter together. Well my $5 caught on a deal processor was too small for this to happen in one batch so I had to do two…I keep telling  y’all you have to be quick on your feet.

What’s Really Going On

It’s Friday!! We made it.

I feel like I have a ton going on and when I feel like that and can’t put it all into a coherent, blog post you know what you get…RANDOMS!!

Here we go

This week my worst fear happened. I stepped out to take my Godmother to a screening of “Won’t Back Down” and while in the care of my Godbrother Addison got hurt and had to go to the urgent care. She got TWO stitches in her little lip. *insert motherly wail* She is fine, the stitches come out tomorrow. But still.

The only thing that is standing between me and my online boutique is a mannequin..$80 worth of a mannequin that I just really want to find on a deal. I’ll spend another week looking and then I will have to part with the $80 #SheSoCheap Domain is purchased, logo designed, clothes hanging. NO MANNEQUIN

Building the House..Episode 3

There is nothing particularly news worthy occurring on the home building front. The builder is currently waiting on the plat map so that we can get a good idea of exactly where the house will sit on the lot. We are getting close. It is my understanding that hopefully within three weeks we will see the actual building start. With it being a new development there is so much paperwork and permits to be obtained so that is the hold up. So for now this is what we have to look at

Lot ends at the white pole on the right.
