Weekend Wrap Up

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

I hope you and your family have a great new year. I am glad the new year is here and I am ready to hit the ground running.

This weekend was rather low key considering it was New Years.

With the start of the new year I felt it necessary to get a new look…This is only a small portion of what hit the floor.

After that was said and done, I started off the weekend by attending the Pre New Years Eve Bash hosted by Lexi and Danielle of Curls, Coils and Kinks and The Style and Beauty Doctor respectfully. The event was held at Sole Boutique here in Atlanta at Atlantic Station. Cute space. They even offered a 30% off deal but there were too many people there and I have to focus when I make purchases. I’ll definitely be back though.

Trina and I shut it down and then headed over to California Pizza Kitchen for some dinner.

Saturday morning, I headed out to drop some shirts off to a lady who will be adding Swarvoski crystals to a shirt design. Headed back home for a day of cleaning and grocery shopping. As evening fell I decided the kids and I would head out to church, and the Mr. went to see some friends who were in town. Sad for us, when we got to church no one was there. Our church has two campuses and evidently I missed the memo. So we headed back home and I counted down and kissed my babies for the new year.

Sunday, we took my stepdaughter home. I came home and whipped up the obligatory collard greens along with some chicken and potato salad for dinner. I must say it was good. I’m going to be domestic yet.

In the New Year {Blog Edition}

Blogging, blogging, blogging. Where do I begin.

I started this journey to break the monotony of being a SAHM with a small baby. At the time Lil Mama was just 3 months. I was only looking for an outlet, that somehow turned into what seems like a way of life.

While I celebrated my blog anniversary a few months ago, my official move to WP occured January 2010. With my 2nd anniversary just around the corner, again like everyone else I have pondered long and hard about the direction, if any this blog will take in 2012.

For NOW, I have decided to try and grow my little space here in the blogosphere. Blogging is really opening doors and creating opportunities. I would be a fool to not at least TRY to take advantage.

That being said. The content here will not change, but there may be a sponsored post here or there and you may see a few ads in the sidebar. I may link to a product in a normal post or do a giveaway…but the content will not change. I promise to never bring anything here that isn’t relevant.

While the content will remain the same I am also going to expand it a bit to be a little more lifestyle centric. Things that I do in my real life that I don’t document here you will see more of. Like burning up 3 batches of homemade cookies or recipes that I try and ~~fail~~. Like I don’t share enough already, you will soon be seeing a little more into my life….like you care.

I am also going to start a 52 week project. I’ve seen other bloggers participate in such projects and I would like to post a picture every Wednesday of my children or my family to document their/our growth. Gives me an opportunity to track their growth and work on my photography skills. My camera has been treated like a step child the past few months.

I’m excited for the new year. I really am. I have a few possible partnerships with other bloggers and features and events on the horizon. Hang on for the ride.

Thought You Might Like to Know

I haven’t done one of these random posts about me in awhile. I’m in a random mood..lucky for you.

I’m an insomniac. I don’t sleep. I watch videos, tweet and blog at all hours of the night.

I bite my nails. Really a part of the reason why they must be painted. The taste of nail polish chips. Naw, I’m good.

I’m a major slacker when it comes to housework. As my Twitter bio states…I’m a sad excuse for a housewife *shrugs*

I wish I had a big booty..but I don’t.

My husband is the best ever. Sometimes I feel like I don’t show him how appreciative I really am of him and all he does for our family. Will rectify that in the new year.

I want to be a mogul. Something like a Kimoro but you can leave the bling and bring Djimon…I’m kidding, about the bling. I digress.

I love hood music. This is not new.

When I’m home alone, I play dress up and put on makeup. This doesn’t happen often.

I am thinking about donating my hair to Locks of Love. hmmmmm…..

I get scared when things go well in my life. I always think the bad times are coming and often wonder what they will bring with them..real talk. Gotta keep that umbrella handy.

I eat sugar on my grits and rice

My mind is always going a million miles a minute. If I don’t write things down I forget them…I never write things down. You do the math. If I told you I was going to do something and I didn’t. Please remind me. Then hand me a Post It…I didn’t say it had to be my handwriting.

I’m going to start back running. Half marathon in March. I think I have time to get ready.

I’m addicted to that show Storage Wars. I think I am going to buy a locker this year. Once I convince the Mr. I only have $200 on it though.

I’m a Beyonce stan.

I walk in circles in the store. So?

I daydream..a whole lot. Like, people may have to say Hello…is anyone home. Like I be somewhere else. Welp. Knock on the door if you need my attention.

If I need to spend a large amount in the store. I’ll make two trips. Two $40 bills is > than one $80 one. No?

Merry Christmas!!!!

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas. Amongst gift giving and fellowship, today our family is remembering the true reason for the season.
