Children Parenting

Anatomically Speaking

A few days ago a friend of mine mentioned that her daughter said something about her “pocketbook”. Seeing that it didn’t fit the context of the conversation I had to ask “pocketbook? What did that have to do with a purse?” I was quickly informed that a “pocketbook” is another word for *whispers* a specific lady part.

Huh? Never heard of that term. Then the conversation came up regarding what will I teach Lil Mama to call “it.” Ummmm a vagina. That’s what it is, isn’t it. Coming up I was taught to call it a Poo-Poo. Nope, I don’t like that word either, anything referring to that region that starts with a P gets a thumbs down in MY book.

So I bring this to you my extended family. Have you taught your children to refer to these areas by the correct anatomical names, or do you care to share more funny nicknames. I am confused, I need to know. Is it wrong for a 2 year old to say vagina, cause I’ve heard one say coochie and I didn’t think it was cute at all.

Time to show your age. Who can tell me what movie this line came from:

Boys have a penis and girls have vaginas

Weekend Wrapup

This weekend was nothing spectacular.

Friday evening I went to get my eyebrows waxed. When you can’t remember the last time you’ve had them done…that’s a major problem. Left there looking like a new person and headed over to Macy’s with Lil Mama in tow for the one day sale to use up the $25 Klout Perks giftcard that I received.

I guess all that thrifting has worn off on me. I ended up only purchasing a few accessories and a tube of red lipstick that I had been looking for. Get it home, and its…meh. I’ll rock it though. I’m linking up with Monday Mingle with BonBon Rose Girls

I wore:
IMG_8271Orange Sweater: Christian Dior (thrifted: Goodwill) Gray Top: Tex by Max Azria (Sears: $6.99) Scarf: Etsy Jeans: Old Navy Boots: “Molly” by Sole Society

Saturday, my worst nightmare came true. Lil Man had an early football game. I was late getting ready and sent him with my neighbor who he sometimes goes to practice with and they got in a car accident. I have been telling myself that I can’t keep him close to me forever so I recently started letting him venture out and this happens. I will be pulling the reigns back in. The car was banged up pretty bad but everyone was fine. I still took him to the ER just to have him checked out. No football game for us.

We came in, took a nap and I headed out to do the grocery shopping for the week…booooooooooooooo. I. hate.the.grocery.store.

Sunday we carved the pumpkin.

Mama's Babies Milestones Weekend

Punkin’ Patch

I’m only a week late but better late than never. Last Friday, October 14 to be exact was my son’s 6th birthday. Every year I say we aren’t going to do anything and every year we end up doing something. For the past few years, I wanted to take them to the pumpkin patch but the Mr. said that was lame. Well I made the executive decision this year for us to go and who knew….he had a good time!

We had a ball. At first I felt a little bad that I wasn’t feeding everybody but at $10/person and nearly 30 people in attendance including parents we had to cut corners but it all worked out. The place was a working farm. They had hayrides, a corn maze, bounce house, a train ride, and a ton of other stuff for the children to do. They barely wanted to eat the cupcakes and take pictures before they were off and running. I can’t believe my baby is 6.

Here’s a few pictures of our outing.

Its Award Season Part II

I was tagged by Destiny over at Home is Where the Heart Is.

I am fairly new to her blog and I enjoy reading about her adventures as a new wife, starting over in a new city. Her outlook on life is inspiring, and the food she cooks looks really good!

Thanks Destiny!

Now as a part of her link up I have to give 10 random things about myself..Here goes

1.) I am an only child

2.) I despise anything that deals with hair. Washing, drying, hair salons etc. Shameful seeing that I have a ton of it.

3.) I have recently fallen in love with crafting hairbows (post of my creations to come). Who knew a glue gun could be sooooo therapeutic

4.) I have gained a love for baking and crafting, thanks to Pinterest (are you following me? Link to your right!!)

5.) I get easily flustered when I have alot of things that need to be done. I am learning to sort them out into smaller tasks and attack the most important ones first…

6.) I ALWAYS start things and never finish them. That trait is coming to an end very soon.

7.) I have 132 bottles of nail polish. Yes, I counted them and on average I add 2 new bottles a week.

8.) I want to open a small high end children’s consignment shop in the next 3 years..Wish me luck!

9.) I am about to start a slow redo of things in my home based on DIY’s and other crafting projects I come across on Pinterest. See, I’m sort of addicted to the site.

10.) If I said it then I meant it.

Now to link up with 10 other blogs.
