You would think as many shows as I watch on HGTV coupled with all of the home blogs that I read that I would be more sure about my décor decisions. Let’s not forget that my bestie Erika Ward from the old days of riding the city bus after school and stopping by the corner store for Laffy Taffys is one of the best interior designers I know, yet I continue to be unsure about design decisions in my home.

So the thing is when you are operating within a budget there are parameters you have to follow, if I may break it down a little further, don’t have champagne taste with a cheap wine budget. I know all about that caveat, and have had to do more than my fair share of compromising to make things work especially when it comes to slowly bringing this house together.

I had grand plans to take apart the summer porch on Labor day but with the foolery that was last week I didn’t get around to it until Saturday morning. I posted to Instagram last week the items that I purchased to begin the fall transition around here.
