My New Favorite Dress

I can’t stress enough how important comfortable fashion is to me….especially when the temps start to dial up. Since I am slowly reconstructing my wardrobe (more on that later) I’m determined to steer clear of any trendy items and specifically spend on items that are classic and are of good quality.

Went to my cousin’s house a few weeks ago and fell in love with this dress. Hers was navy blue and white. As a stroke of blessings would have it, one of my favorite girls called me on the phone telling me about this amazing sale Gap was having. I ventured over and there was the dress. *cue angels singing*

Unfortunately it wasn’t in my preferred color but style and price trumped color. The dress was marked down to $19 with an additional 40%. I paid $11 for this dress and the original price was $50.

WIN. SCORE. DID THAT.

Love my dress. The jersey fabric is amazing so I plan to take good care of and get good wear out of this simple dress.

{OOTD} Thrifted Shirt Dress

I’ve been hanging out in the thrift store again. I had fallen off but the itch is coming back and with a vengeance…I mean seeing that I don’t have any more clothes I’ll be spending time in there out of necessity in the coming weeks. If you are new here I am a firm believer in high and low pieces co existing in fashion harmony.

My life has been much like the movie Groundhog Day lately. Wake up, school drop off, work, school pick up, homework, dinner, work, sleep…. REPEAT.

I said all of that to say, I’ve been in a bit of a fashion rut so I decided to stop in the Goodwill one day and came across this J.Jill shirt dress. It was a little big but seemed comfy and fit for the job of a WAHM so I swiped my card for $2 and some change and was on my way.

I think I like it.

A White Linen Dress

I was provided product to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine.

I know the fashion rules have changed and people wear white year ’round, I know this. However, I am a stickler for no white before Memorial Day. I just am, I don’t have issues with people who choose to do it. I just can’t.

I am aware that some follow the white after Easter rule, so just one day after Easter I bring to you this lovely white linen dress that I ordered from eShakti.

{OOTD} Blanket Scarf

Oh how I love a good scarf. I have many scarves from wool to lightweight cotton. I believe they make great accessories year round. I was overjoyed this fall when I saw that the larger sized plaid scarves were going to be one of the seasons top picks. My joy was initially short lived after it seemed like every blogger and her mother was rocking the larger sized plaid scarf….you know which one I’m talking about.
