Carter’s Back to School Collection at Kohl’s

Thank you to Kohl’s and Carter’s for partnering with Unlikely Martha. I have received compensation for this post. All growing children need clothes, I’m happy to inform you about the  Kohl’s and Carters collaboration that will have your child on trend and your wallet intact.

Back to school preparation this year has gone rather smoothly. Instead of rushing out to purchase what I thought my children needed I employed strategy. This strategy consisted of really taking inventory of what they had and what they needed and creating an actual list based on these items.

I implore you to do something similar. It kept me on budget and sane. When purchasing clothing items I really tried to consider how I could repurpose those things for early fall by layering.

SHIRT | LEGGINGS

For Addison this consisted of finding prints that could be easily mixed and matched, purchasing lightweight shirts that could accommodate a thin long sleeve shirt underneath, and dresses that a jean jacket could be thrown over and leggings or tights put on underneath to extend seasonal wear.

The Carter’s collection at Kohl’s met all of my needs. My goal was to create a capsule wardrobe complete with leggings that could be mixed and matched creating a number of different outfits from just a few items.

With my little spirited girl having her own opinions on what to wear I thoroughly appreciate Carters ability to provide age appropriate on trend clothing that allows my Addison to don all of the sparkly and flowery things that she loves so much.

Little Girls Rock Dresses with Olive Mae Clothing

Addison was provided two dresses to facilitate this review. All posing, expressions and thoughts are hers.

If you parent a little girl then you may know all about the dress and tutu phase that some of them go through. For those who’ve been around these parts long enough, I’m sure you remember when my Addi was in her tutu phase. We are now in the dress phase, I’m not much of a dress wearer so the struggle for me to purchase dresses for her has become very real these past few months.

Olive Mae clothing reached out to me, and I thought this would be right up her alley, so her and I sat and looked at the laptop and she happily selected two dresses that she wanted. My input was not taken into consideration but she did a great job!

One of my favorites is this super girly dress. I loved the details on the neckline, sleeves and hem.

So let me mention, she not only had to pick the dresses but had to do the styling as well. Wasn’t too keen on the Uggs with this cute high low number but you know….some battles just aren’t worth the fight

{VIDEO} H&M. Gap. Tanger Outlet Back to School Shopping Haul

Hard to believe that in just under a month my children will be back in the classroom. A few weeks ago I took a trip down to Tanger Outlet just to get out of the house and lucked up on some amazing deals for children’s clothing. A few of the sales are still going on so I would say keep your eyes peeled for Spring and early Summer clearance clothing that can easily help you transition your children back to school without draining your wallet.

At Tanger Outlet I was able to score some incredible deals at Gap, Old Navy, Carters, and P.S. for Aeropostale. Believe me when I say I didn’t pay over $7 for any one piece of clothing. I’m still excited about all of the things I was able to find some for as low at $0.50.

Outside of Tanger I also ventured to H&M and found some amazing deals as well. I spent right at $200 and walked a way with a ton of high quality children’s clothing. See what I picked up on the video below. Be sure to thumbs up and subscribe to my YouTube channel for all of my vlogs and videos!

Weekend Wrap Up

I am exhausted. This weekend was a whirlwind.

Friday evening my son’s school had their fall festival and I volunteered the trunk of my car for the trunk or treat portion of the festival. Basically I was required to sit in my trunk and hand out candy as children came by.

By the way...does anyone know why Mike and Ike broke up?

Left the fall festival and headed to the grocery store with the Mr. in tow. Always nice to have him tag along on those trips. Came home and went to bed because I had to get up bright and early to help Trina with a fashion show that she was putting on.

The clothes were sponsored by the Gap and were fabulous. Such amazingly cute clothes for kids this season.

Bernetta ripped the runway as the pregger model. Sorry I didn’t grab a photo of her dressed up but her makeup is fierce here.

I even got a chance to walk the runway as well. Here are the babies and I before runway time

Addison decided to have a mini meltdown literally minutes before it was time to go on. Here I am giving her a little pep talk, which translates into promises of purple popsicles.

Thank you Dea for this photo!!

A little before show prep

The show was a total success. The kids did an awesome job. If you can imagine the amount of work that went into coordinating something with 25 kids and borrowed clothes and shoes…yeah.

Congratulations to Trina for a job well done! Make sure you stop by her blog sometime this week. I’m sure she will have the official photos so you can see all of the cuteness.

Sunday I laid low, cooked some dinner and thoroughly enjoyed my additional hour. Did you?

How was your weekend?
