I despise hair. Absolutely nothing about it sparks my interest and seeing that I have an astronomical amount of it is proof that God has a sense of humor.
I have no idea what type of hair I have on that little natural hair chart and I have no interest in figuring it out. I’ve watched videos and they bore me and the styles don’t work for my hair so I’m stuck with what to do with my hair during these hot, humid months ahead. I like my hair straight, but the humidity and pop up showers in the summer would make me a fool for spending an hour a week pressing it so I turned to pinterest for some inspiration on what to do with my hair.
These are two of the styles that I plan on adding to my usual twist out regimen. I’ll let you know how it turns out

Are you rocking a new do for the summer? Do share so I can steal.
On Twitter I have often posed the question about hair products to use on Addison’s hair. See, I’m hair challenged. I have a ton of hair and its oily so my street cred and knowledge of dealing with dry hair is null and void.
After trying a plethora of different products on her hair I had basically thrown my hands up. Baby girl’s hair is like a brillo pad. I can put all kinds of product on it and minutes later it looks like a tumbleweed.
I was thrilled when I was reached out to by Simplicity Hair Oil to try some of their products. I was willing to try anything at that point..although I was leery to try anything in a straight oil form after she poured a whole half a jar of olive oil on my couch while I was doing her hair..
No. I don’t want to talk about it..Moving on.
So the oil was for everybody. It was a bit heavy for my hair but like I said my hair is extremely oily so I refrain from putting anything on it after I wash it. My husband decided to use it on his skin. Whatever. My son’s hair was nice and shiny and it worked all kinds of Jesus miracles on Addison’s hair.
I only used about 2-3 drops per section and rubbed it in really well. The shine was evident immediately like all products but a few hours later she still had some sheen which would have been long gone with some of the other products I had been using. The smell was amazing.
Simplicity Oil is all natural and contains Coconut and Tea Tree oil just to name a few of the ingredients. I’m not really into all of the inner workings of my hair products but when I have been recommended products to use these two oils always come up. Based on this product they really do work wonders on dry hair. I would encourage you to check them out online and order a sample to see if the product is a good fit for you and your family.
You can find Simplicity on the Web, Twitter and Facebook….and she’s a mom! Go check her out.
*Yes. I was given this product for the sole purpose of use and review. As always and forever more all opinions stated here are mine. Thank You*
Yeah, its Thursday. So?
So last weekend was action packed as usual. The awesome hostesses Lexi and Danielle who were also behind the blogger Pre Nye Bash invited some area bloggers to a private party at TJ Maxx. We well they participated in a fashion challenge and the winners for the best outfit won giftcards. ( I was late, otherwise…)
Despite my being tardy to the party I was given this…
well actually everyone in attendance got one! I enjoyed hanging out and seeing my old blog buddies and gaining some new ones.

I curled my hair and I did it too tight. I was not impressed with my hair..at.all. I wore:
Cardigan: Magaschoni via Marshalls ($5!!!) Belt: Thrifted Jeans: TJ Maxx Purse: Thrifted Necklace: Rue21 Boots: Charlotte Russe
After the event a few bloggers and I headed over to the Cheesecake Factory for some eats..This is the Asian salad and it is the best thing ever.
Saturday, Pinterest finally coerced me into trying one of its many projects. One of my besties came over and helped me make a tufted headboard for my bed…I’ll post about that later…FYI lots of *&^*^% was involved but I am proud considering I am not crafty at all. I’ll post the tutorial and pics on Saturday.
By the way Lexi and Danielle are both separately hosting a $150 GC giveaway for TJ Maxx/Marshalls. You have two chances to win , head over to get your name in the running.
Are you a Maxxinista? What’s the best deal you’ve come across in a TJ Maxx/Marshalls?
