Photography Wordless Wednesday

{kinda} Wordless Wednesday

We had a fairly decent weekend. Went to a birthday party

Monday, I had every intention to make it to the jazz festival, however I opted to take the children to a park not far from my house that is a memorial to our military heroes.

We went there and learned that there are many who have fought, and in that number there are some that were never returned to their families.

We learned that freedom isn’t free.

We learned that in order to serve, you have to be selfless

They learned a lot, and asked questions. I answered them the best that I could, and I was surprised that my son knew as much as he did. They are truly sponges and always soaking up information. Even the small details that we tell them in passing.

There is a separate park attached to the memorial so we kicked it over there for awhile

…and she was not sitting on that step because the animals in that shed would bite her butt butt *side eye*

I love their interactions w each other, he looks like such a great big brother! My dad used to take us to a park similar like this during 4th of July weekend and I never forgot how deep those stories were. Maybe I’ll take Chunks this year too. Love your shots as always.

Hand in the pocket is TOO cute! And the McDonald’s cake just brought back all sorts of childhood memories – I had no idea they still do bday parties.

So awesome! And I couldn’t agree with you more, children are definitely sponges and soak up everything which is why it is important to try a be the best example for them.

Haaaa @ Addison!! I just love her! Seriously, I think she and M would be great friends. I hope if you guys come this way this summer we can meet up!

What a great experience to give your children. This is so important. Sure, they hear this stuff at school, but experiences and little trips like this really helps them with their understanding.
