{Progress} Addison’s Room Makeover

Addison’s room. Where do I start? *scratches head*

I’ve briefly mentioned how awful all of the paint colors were and still are for some rooms in this house. So far I’ve only tackled three rooms, laundry, kitchen and now Addison’s room. If walls could truly talk, I’m sure the ones in the aforementioned rooms were like YESSSSSS!  with the little arm movement.

Addison’s room had brown walls with black trim. If you need a jog down memory lane here are the before pictures.

On top of the color the walls were FILTHY. I mean just….like I’m ashamed we were even in here for a full year before doing something about it. Better late than never.

Oddly the color that I decided to paint the trim was the exact same color as the old walls. Weird.

I drew inspiration from here.

I love the touches of white. Eventually all of her furniture will be white and linens will have a white base with colorful patterns and designs… I think, not sure yet.  We had company visit so I just purchased something to put on the bed while they were here but I’ve been looking for her permanent comforter.
Here is what we’re working with right now.

I can’t wait to get some pictures on the wall and bring in some color. I’m just so indecisive…or strapped on cash. Either works.
We purchased her a new bed since she was the only one without a decent one. I mean that things sleeps goooooood. I laid in there the other morning and dozed off for like 20 minutes..felt like an hour. Only thing is, we are realizing it is too high for her.
The bed is from Ikea, I have to go and get the wood slats for it so that we can remove the box spring so it won’t be so high. I like it high but the way she sleeps…I have also thought about adding those little side rails. We’ll see.

..in case you were wondering if she has decided to lay her head on her new bed….

Her doll and I have made more use of it. She hasn’t slept a wink in there.

Is!! She will not sleep in her room. As soon as I get the bed situation together she is going to be in for a rude awakening!

Me too. That was my thought. Wanted something where I could switch out bedding etc. without having to think of the wall color.

Love the room!!! And I feel you on the “blocking” we got twin beds in Morgans room and I swear her “mom trying to sneak out” radar goes off so I end up sleeping on the other twin bed. At least she’s out of my room.

What size is her bed? Auntie Erika has some bedding and lighting contributions in her stash if she’s interested 🙂

Girl…my three year old has a room with a comfy bed, comfy sheets, new comforter…and she still won’t sleep the night in there. No matter how many times I take her back she will wake up after either 45 mins or two hours and be back in our bed. Her reason? She says she just wants to be close to me…

Thanks! That window lets in so much light. I don’t think I’ll completely cover it though. We’ll see.

It’s a great space and I’m sure it’ll turned out beautifully. Madison’s bed is high as well, we added the rails when she first moved into her big girl room and she now only has one rail. We also added a really cute step stool from Homegoods so she could get on and off the bed easily. She has now moved the step stool into her closet to grab clothes off the higher racks.

Very cute! My 4 y/o hater, um, daughter, still gets into the bed with us about 30-40% of the time. SMH. Where is the blanket on her bed from?

The general idea that I’m getting is all 4 year olds still sleep in the bed with their parents! I got that cover from Target a few weeks ago.

Such an adorable room! You guys really did an awesome job. It definitely seems so much more brighter in there. I just love the little doll. She matches perfectly with the bed’s color scheme.
