For quite some time I had been meaning to take my children to a screen on the green event but had never gotten around to it. This past weekend we traveled out to the Avalon in Alpharetta for an evening of fun under a cool evening sky to watch a movie on the green. The weather was perfect, and the US Weekly team had Orville Redenbacher’s Popcorn, blankets and a fun photo booth set out for attending families.
We got there a little late, and I was surprised at how many people were out there. After managing to finagle ourselves into a tight spot we ordered some pizza from a restaurant and enjoyed our dinner and movie. I curled up a blanket we bought out there and used it as a pillow and watched the movie laying down.
After the showing I ran into a few fellow bloggers and we chatted a bit before heading home. I love fun family friendly outings that don’t cost a thing. I’m kind of sad the season for outdoor activities such as this is coming to an end. We had a really great time. I mean even my husband was laughing at the movie!
As we move into fall it will be time to explore activities indoors, but as we strive to spend more time together as a family, events like this are great for making lasting memories.
