In other news:
The summer is wrapping up for us and I am looking forward to everything going back to normal. School here starts on August 1, so I am in the process of getting Lil Man ready for Kindergarten *sniffles*ย I can’t believe it. He is really pressing the issue about riding the school bus and I’m just not sure. Furthermore I’m stressing because I want to pack him lunches and send him with a lunchbox and smiley face notes. His dad says that’s lame. Is it?
Lil Mama left on Saturday morning to spend some time with her godmother in Fl. I miss her, but I was becoming a little unraveled. I needed a few days to myself. She’ll be back tomorrow. I will be refreshed by then.ย ย Lil Mama is growing so fast, and has turned into quite the bully. Slapping and biting are her weapons of choice.
Well, after completing the 10K I have decided in an effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle I am going to start training for a half marathon. YES 13.1 miles. Me. <–. The plan is to do two. One in Savannah in November and the Disney Princess in February. I’m going to really keep track of my progress on the blog through a new app I found for my phone..you know accountability. With you all watching me, I will feel like a failure if I slack off and don’t go through with it. Don’t let me fall off. Okay?
I haven’t been taking as many photos as I would like trying to keep peace in the house with the kids. I did order some business cards from this site called Moo. If you need cards you have to go there. The quality is awesome and they are very reasonable.
Welp, that’s enough of my ramblings. How was your weekend?

July 18, 2011 at 12:21 amI think you should do the smiley face notes in the lunchbox. It may be a little lame but I think Kindergarten is the time when you can get away with it ๐ It may be comforting to him. He will let you know if/when he is to big for it.
Good luck with your 1/2 marathon training

July 18, 2011 at 4:20 amI think you should do the lunches! Good for you for the half marathon! I’m going backwards and working on a 5k. Maybe the one on thanksgiving day! Anyway, remember to take time for you! It’s hard, but DO IT!

July 18, 2011 at 11:01 amAwww my daughter is going to kindergarten too this year. She was in Pre-K last year for half a day and was excited to ride the bus. I hated the idea but she was so adamant about it and all turned out well. And there’s nothing with packing lunches with smiley faces and notes. I do it and my daughter loves it.

July 18, 2011 at 12:58 pmI can’t do the bus thing right now I am already sad he is going to school one step at a time for me. Maybe in 5 yrs who knows. I am sending mines to school with lunch not with a smiley face (his dad won’t let me) but with food I know he will eat. I don’t want him going hungry all day. Glad you took some time for you cherish it.

July 18, 2011 at 2:24 pmAs a teacher I have to say I love to see the smile on my students faces as they quietly read the notes on their napkins or lunch bags from their parents. They really look forward to those special notes or smiley faces, especially kindergarteners who may be having some separations issues at the beginning of the year. I say there is nothing wrong with letting him know you are thinking about him during the day!

July 18, 2011 at 3:30 pmI don’t think it’s lame at all to leave notes for your baby! I would be iffy about the school bus too. I think it’s the mama bear syndrome! As far as the half marathon, you can do it!! Yay! We’ll be cheering you on. Rock it out!

July 19, 2011 at 4:46 pmIgnore dad! *lol* Nothing lame about a lunchbox and love!
Glad that you got a break from the little Mama! I’m sure you truly needed it.
Moo is one site that I can NEVER view from work. Seems to be blocked by my tech guys and I forget when I’m on the computer at home.

July 22, 2011 at 3:33 pmAnd I thought we started early – school starts on the 8th here.
I packed Lovegirl’s lunch nearly every day last year (Kindergarten) and plan on doing the same this year. She doesn’t like the cafeteria food and I’m more than happy to send her off with a healthy lunch that she enjoys. Someone gave me a pack of little lunchbox notes and I use them regularly – she loves getting them.
I let her ride the bus – she loves it, so I’m good.
Yay for breaks!

July 23, 2011 at 3:33 pmI think preparing a child for kindergarten is very scary! I don’t know what to do next year when it is time for my son to go. I don’t think I can do the school bus, at least not early on. I pack my son’s lunches and I think smiley face notes would be fine. ๐
I hope to run a marathon….it is on my list of things to do. You know, the one I can’t find. lol

July 24, 2011 at 3:07 pmWow! August 1st?
And here I thought August 8th was soon..
My daughter is going to Kindergarten as well. I packed a few lunches for her when she was in Pre-K and also included notes. I adopted the idea from a Mommy Blog that I had visited, and I thought it was pretty cute. Plus, it teaches them to read and also reminds them how much you care.
