Summertime Hair- Layered Bob

I was driving in the car today and had an epiphany that I need a change, a new look if you will.

As soon as I was certain that I indeed wanted a hair cut I called my stylist and got her VM….TWICE. I did the back to back because it was urgent in my mind at that moment. I then sent her a text, and a Facebook message. I’m still waiting.

I’m glad for the waiting because it gives me time to change my mind but I am more certain now than I was when the epiphany occurred that I indeed want to cut my hair into some sort of layered bob and have a little color thrown in to hide these rampant grays….

I’m going to go with something like this:

Wait for it.

Peter Som for Kohl’s in Stores Now + $100 Gift Card Giveaway

* I was provided compensation to facilitate this post as a Kohl’s Fashion Ambassador. All opinions are mine. You already know*

I’m not a big online shopper and one of the prominent reasons is I have a hard time imagining what a fabric might feel like or actually look like when I have it in hand. I’ve had to return one too many items because at some point my  thoughts on what I should receive and what I actually got somehow got lost in translation.

I said all of that to say I didn’t have any particular expectations for the Peter Som collection. I knew there were quite a few pieces that I’d seen online that caught my eye but I wasn’t sure if the photos would translate into real life. Oh, but they did. I was impressed with the fabrics and how easily the separate pieces mixed and matched with one another.

Before I knew it I was headed to the fitting room with nearly one of every pre-sale item.

I took an Instagram and Facebook poll on these dresses and it was tied. I did end up purchasing the colored one but upon getting home I’ve decided to possibly replace it with another item.

I was hoping this set was available during the pre-sale but it wasn’t. I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on this. Can’t. WAIT. Y’all should know by now I’m all about fashion and function. I need these pieces to serve multiple purposes and this set here is just my style.

While I had a bit of a miss with the dress I did pick up these very versatile pants. I purchased them because I knew they would look just as good with flip flops as they would with heels. I actually wore them to my son’s piano recital on Sunday.

Getting Ready for Easter with Honey Baked Ham + Giveaway

In case you hadn’t noticed Easter is just around the corner. With the hustle and bustle of buying dresses and practicing Easter speeches it is so easy to wait until the last minute to make plans regarding Easter dinner and post service fellowship.

Last year the family and I joined my best friend and her family for brunch at a local restaurant. This year she is hosting everyone at her home for a family style  brunch. We’ve been requested to contribute a few dishes to the feast and being that I cook alright for us I would rather just pick up something that is ready to heat and eat for a large group of people. Mishap proof, cause something always goes wrong when I try to cook in large batches. I know my lane.

After visiting the Honey Baked Ham headquarters in December and having the opportunity to taste the majority of their heat and eat options I already know where my dishes are coming from.

These two were my favorites:

Honey Baked Ham Sweet Potato Pie

Honey Baked Ham Cheesecake Sampler

In the event you weren’t aware Honey Baked Ham also offers Turkey Breasts in addition to their signature Hams. Outside of the premium meats, there are also a plethora of options for heat and eat sides as well as delectable desserts.
