OshKosh B’Gosh Spring Fashion for Girls + $50 Giveaway

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.”

Anybody else feel a sense of excitement when stores start putting out Spring fashion. Bright, cheery pastel colors, new styles and accessories have you wishing away the totally awkward transitional period from cold to warm so you can put your arms and legs out.

Addison will be 7 in a few weeks and I am thrilled that she is now of the age where she is transitioning out of little girl clothing into kids fashion styles that are a little more fashion forward. This is also the time where she is starting to assert her opinions on what she likes and wants to wear. Thank goodness her style is pretty much on par with the things I would purchase for her so the transition has been smooth so far.

Knocks on Wood.

Speaking of asserting herself, she loves this hat. I purchased it thinking it would be good for Easter and she wants to wear it with everything!

OshKosh B’gosh is one of my favorite places to shop for her. I love OshKosh for their age appropriate stylish clothing and accessories. My number one love for the brand is the fact that their clothing washes well and lasts for a long time. My girl can be so hard on clothes so I don’t mind paying a little extra for style AND quality. Coupled with a coupon, I can always get more bang for my buck shopping with OshKosh B’gosh.

A few weeks ago I journeyed down to OshKosh to pick up a few Spring items for her and fell in love with the Fields of Fun line. I love how the Fields of Fun  items coordinate with one another allowing you to create a sort of capsule wardrobe of kids fashion that mixes and matches well allowing you to buy a few pieces that can create multiple outfits. Again, more bang for your buck.

Dollar Tree Garden Haul

Start Your Garden with 5 Simple Dollar Tree Essentials

When I tell you there is nothing like planting a seed in the dirt and seeing something grow from it. I had never likened myself to be the gardening type until I planted something and it grew!

Since then, the countdown to early Spring is real. The past few years I have strictly stuck to container gardening but I am looking to branch out into square foot gardening this year.

To get my seedlings started I picked up a few items from Dollar Tree. Whether you are going to grow in containers or in a bed it’s a good idea to start seeds indoors early.

There are so many resources to offer you help if you feel like you have a brown thumb that you want to grow into a green one. I’ve recently joined the We Sow, We Grow Facebook group and am loving the community as it is a mashup of newbie and seasoned gardeners connecting to offer support and answer questions.

If you are halfway interested in starting a garden and don’t want to spend a ton of money here are a few items you can get for less than $10 to get your garden started.

Dollar Tree Garden Haul

Seeds At your local store seeds can cost upwards of $2 per pack. At Dollar Tree you can grab them 4 for $1.  The selection isn’t huge but for the basics this is a great start.

Weed Barrier Since I am square foot gardening with boxes, I will need to lie down  a weed barrier. These are just $1 a pack compared to $4.99 and above. The size is about 4″ X 8″, perfect for smaller spaces. My boxes will be 4″ X 4″ so this is perfect.

Plant Labels When you plant your seedlings, you want to make sure you remember what you planted, these are great for marking seedlings. I’ve seen these go for about $5 at Target. If they happen to be sold out, popsicle craft sticks work just as well.

Pots We won’t even get into how much pots can cost. They add up quickly. Bought quite a few for my lettuce and herbs. While plastic and not the prettiest, they will certainly get the job done.

Garden Gloves For $1 these things are clutch. I’ve had my pair since last year. The underside is made of latex to keep your hands from feeling water or wet dirt. Grab a few of these.

Dirt is the only item not on this list. I don’t suggest picking that up from Dollar Tree but instead heading out to a garden center for soil that has been enriched with the nutrients and fertilizer seedlings need to grow strong.

If you haven’t a clue of what to do next after gathering your supplies this post and this post will help you out.

Spring into Style with Denim + Nordstrom Gift Card Giveaway

Here in the South we have experienced a taste of all four seasons in the span of one week. While temps  easily hit the 70s for a week straight in February, I am old school and subscribe to the fashion theory of dressing for the season and not the weather. I will not be caught dead in sandals before the end of April and pass not one morsel of judgement on those who do. As I am truly unbothered about what you choose to put on your body.

So you can imagine my  fashion theory has left me a little perplexed on how to dress for this crazy, sporadic weather. I figure you can never go wrong in Spring with layering your clothing, rocking a little denim and throwing on your favorite flats.

Oh, and please don’t forget your accessories. They can easily pop a plain outfit.

I customized this denim dress on Eshakti, by selecting the length, neckline, and sleeve length. Once I received it, I realized my Summer body had not completely arrived and it was a little snug buttoned up, so I opted to wear it as a duster.

….or a cloak, as my son calls it.

It’s weighty enough to keep me warm on cool mornings and evenings but light enough to act as a layer for warmer days.

Did I mention I’m tired. Between dance and track four times a week, I’m just trying to look like somebody with minimal effort. I’ve worn a variation of this outfit more than I care to admit but it’s easy and makes me look a little put together.

If you too are grasping for Spring outfit inspiration I’m teaming up with Take Time for Style for a fun collaboration of stylish moms sharing how we do Spring Style. Be sure to visit every day  for some Spring style inspiration. For a chance to win a $150 Nordstrom Gift card enter HERE!

Weekend Vlog | My Son’s First Track Meet

I’m a track mom. He voted against baseball this year. The selfish mom in me wanted me to make him play so I didn’t have to make new team mom friends but when he was pretty adamant about giving track a go, I dragged my feet down to the county rec office and signed him up.

Y’all.

Nobody told me that signing up for rec track would  be like scribbling my name on the dotted line for a travel sport. The majority of our meets are at least an hour away. Note, I said at least which would imply some are a little farther.

Too late, fees are paid so we are all in. Our first meet was this weekend. So typical that we have been having Summer in March until this past weekend when Jack Frost came through like, don’t call it a come back.

Arrived around 8a. He did not run until 1p. All of that time, sitting in the cold.

Nonetheless, we joked and laughed, and ate french fries and drank hot chocolate. I’m seeing this track thing is a lifestyle.

He has already asked to run in the Summer league. Please send tents and snacks and sunscreen.

Here’s a very short vlog of our first track meet. If you hang out on Youtube at all would you be so kind to subscribe to my channel here?!

How was you weekend? Was it tied up with kids sports? I want to hear, we’re all in this together!
