$50 and Under “Little” Black Dresses

I’m not one for telling folks what they need to do but, you need a little black dress.

A well fitting little black dress, whether dressy or casual is the fix to a multitude of I don’t know what to wear(s). There is something so chic and effortless about a black dress. It’s a blank slate for bringing in statement or classic jewelry, and did I mention slimming. Every time I’m in the thrift store I’m always looking for a new one to add to my mix of high end and thrifted ones.

The thrift store is full of black dresses, but if thrifting isn’t your thing, here are a few black dresses I’m loving that won’t break the bank at $50 and under.

The Best Time to Be a Kid + Gymboree GC Giveaway

Children grow so fast. Finding affordable and high quality clothing is an essential for every parent. Partnering with Gymboree on this post to highlight some of their fun and festive gear for the season. I was compensated for this post….cause again, children always need something or the other.

I’ll never forget the Dr. telling me at one of my daughter’s appointment that if I wanted to get an idea of how we parent, observe her interactions with others and how she plays with her dolls.

In doing so, I got the feeling that I must be extremely affectionate with her. She is such a ball of affection, joy and laughter all of the time and now that the holidays are upon us she is extra giddy and excited for us to do all of the fun things we do as a family this time of year.

I’m not for all of the fanciness of the season. We like to keep things light, fun and festive. Creating a magical experience for my children is my main priority during the season. We take car rides in various neighborhoods to observe the outdoor decorations and lights, we ice skate, have family movie nights to watch our favorite Christmas movies, visit Six Flags, and the night before Christmas we make s’mores.

~~We also do Elf on the Shelf, although I’m not completely certain Bella and Charlotte will make an appearance this year. They moved a whole 4 times last year.~~

All of our activities require comfy clothing, and as I’ve mentioned before Addison has discovered her own fashion preferences and the majority of them come from Gymboree.

Vibrant, sparkly and shiny clothing fit my girl’s personality to a tee. Gymboree style will have her warm and fabulous for our holiday traditions this year.

The Trench Coat | My Favorite Fall Fashion Trend

I am reposting this from exactly one year ago! As the years move by, and our hairstyles change one thing is for sure classic fashion will always be clutch. Put a trench coat on your list of must have fashion!

I’m not really sure if trench coats can be defined as trends. Scratch that I know for a fact trench coats are fashion staples that moonlight as trends depending on the season.

Y’all know I’m not much into trendy fashion, give me all of the classic fashion. It’s clean and effortless.

Mine is my trench coat.

I own quite a few but made a special investment for this Ralph Lauren one. With this addition my collection is certainly complete…~~except for maybe a Burberry one~~

My Fall Uniform + $150 Nordstrom Giftcard Giveaway

On the need to dress up meter where left is “Glammed Up” and the right is “Real Basic” I might as well be walking around with a PSL and Uggs.

I’m about as basic as it gets these days.

Although my need to get dressed up these days is non existent, I am always a champion for looking neat and put together even in the most basic shirt, jean and accessory.

Much like a dead horse, I will reiterate always that looking put together as a mom doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. However, it does take some strategic planning to ensure you have the right items on hand that when thrown together offer instant style. Here’s a tip, and another one, and one for the road.

The thrift store is a great place to look for quality basic pieces without breaking the bank. Pretty sure you can never go wrong with a button down, jeans and a blanket scarf. That’s my uniform for the fall.

You shall see this uniform in many variations over the next few months.
